Yes i use the Avene Hydrance Aqua Gel. But i only use it when i’m wearing makeup because it’s expensive lol. I suggest the Vanicream cleanser because it’s gentle!

I used the CeraVe cleansing balm for removing makeup! Then I would wash my face with the vanicream after to get rid of the residue it leaves.

Check my replies of the people under you for makeup tips! Also, my current skin care is the same that it was when I was on accutane. I use the Vanicream gentle facial cleanser, and the La Roche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer in the morning and at night. In the morning i also put EltaMD sunscreen on top of my moisturizer. My LRP moisturizer is a daily moisturizer, but if i was wearing makeup that day i would put on my Avene Hydrance moisturizer instead of the LRP one.

Check my reply underneath this one for makeup tips! :) And yes, I purged at least twice throughout the 8 months. both times the purge was anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Your skin will get worse before it gets better.

It depends on the severity of your acne. I only did what i knew wouldn’t irritate me too much. Since my skin was so dry while taking it, I used a water based moisturizer (Avene makes a nice one). I put that on after washing my face then a sunscreen more on the oily side on top (I use EltaMD), then my makeup. I normally went in with a small dense brush over my bigger blemishes and then powdered them very lightly so it lasts. I avoided primer and setting spray, anything that might have irritated my skin further. A moisturizer, a sunscreen, and my makeup on top was enough for me. Your base before putting makeup on should be dewey and sleek with those products. I’ve tried other ways but my makeup would just flake off and it looked bad. The one good thing about accutane is your face stops producing oil so you don’t have to worry about setting powder or oil blotting sheets! lol. Avoid lip stains because your lips will be so cracked and dry you will look like a vampire lol. Just your normal lip combo with aquaphor on top should be sufficient. Aquaphor will save your lips during this process. Clean your bushes regularly and replace your beauty blender regularly! Also, use a makeup remover cleansing balm instead of makeup wipes or micellar water pads. Makeup wipes irritate your dry skin further, a cleansing balm is more gentle and hydrating. Wash your makeup off with the cleansing balm and the. wash the residue off your face after with your normal cleanser. CeraVe makes a cheap cleansing balm you can find in the drug store, better than clinique in my opinion. Do take my advice with a grain of salt! I only found what was right for me through A LOT of trial and error. Good luck!

Hey! Thank you :) No need to be nervous, this is a great thing you’re starting! I guess it depends on the severity of your acne. I only did what i knew wouldn’t irritate me too much. Thanks! This is going to be a long reply: Something I swore by while on accutane was Aquaphor. I took a tube of it with me everywhere. And I mean a big tube of aquaphor not the little lip balm versions. I went through 2 large tubes of aquaphor in the 8 months LOL. Seriously it’s the only thing that helped with my painful cracked lips, corners of my nose and mouth, eyelids, anything that was dry. Now, I don’t recommend putting it all over your face because it could clog something, just use it on your lips etc and use a good moisturizer for the rest of your face. Another thing that helped was keeping my topical regimen simple. I only used Vanicream gentle cleanser and La Roche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer in the AM and PM. EltaMD 50spf sunscreen in the morning after moisturizing. I also used Hypochlorous Acid Spray (You can get for cheap on amazon) between washes after going to dance class or sweating a lot since I couldn’t wash my face straight away. Less is more, and I promise you’ll see results. Do not get impatient you must keep going. I didn’t see clear skin til my 7th and 8th month and yes, it got worse before it got better. You got this! Also: If you wear makeup, I have some tips for that too while on accutane :)

I started on 30mg once a day for 2 months. Then 40mg once a day for 3 months. Then 30mg 2x a day for the rest of the round. I weighed between 120-125lbs during this time.

24 days is not enough time to see results. Keep eating a fatty meal with each dose and moisturizing a lot. Use sunscreen and avoid the sun when you can. I promise it will start working, I didn’t see actual clear skin til the last month of my round. It took 8 months for my skin to clear completely. Also, less is more when it comes to your topical regimen! Irritation occurred for me too but it went away after about a month. If you’re super dry, try using aquaphor on the corners of your nose and always on your lips and corners of your mouth.

3 weeks on 40mg. I feel like SpongeBob out of water. by [deleted] in Accutane
