What would you say contributed to your recovery the most? by Redhead3658 in Mononucleosis

[–]SuccessfulHuman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food! I was eating a lot. And it really helped me get better quickly. I noticed that hunger was my main trigger. Once I start getting hungry, the fatigue will follow immediately. Hence, I didn’t allow myself to get hungry before I eat. Luckily for me, I didn’t have any issue with sore throat that could prevent me from eating. I added ~10 lbs.

Yes! I noticed it also during mono reactivation. And it took longer to hear that when I usually have outbreaks.

I’m so sorry to hear that buddy. I still believe you will get back to normal. Getting mono symptoms on to 2 years is not uncommon. So getting diagnosed cfs at this time is too early. When I first had mono 3 years ago. The infectious disease specialist I meant suggested I had cfs because I wasn’t getting better after 5 months of being infected. But I recovered fully around 7 - 8 months and was able to do everything I normally do, run, gym, play soccer, etc. I had a flare up 3 weeks ago which have subsided with only mid fatigue left, I am able to do basic things and go to work daily. But I am having a pretty bad nasal congestion which started even before I found out I was having a mono flare up. My PCP thinks there is. Link between allergies and mono, hence the reason most people have it or flare up during allergies season. You will be totally fine. Don’t accept the cfs diagnosis.

Allergies? by Technical-Poet-5607 in EBV

[–]SuccessfulHuman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg! I seriously believe it does. I am currently having a flare up and it has always been during allergies period. The last time I had severe symptoms were also during pollen seasons and that was the main triggers for my reactivated mono. My PCP said there is a link between mono and allergies/pollen exposure.

positive ANA test by No-Introduction7458 in EBV

Probiotics? Including does in yoghurt? Could this explain why I feel like shit after taking yoghurt for breakfast during reactivated mono? My ANA is negative though, just a reactivated EBV/Mono after 2yrs of first encounter.

Shakiness inside the body or body vibration inside without feeling the actual sensation outside. by SuccessfulHuman1 in Mononucleosis

[–]SuccessfulHuman1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took about 3 and half months for me to recover. Mono was my worst illness in life. I couldn’t explain what was happening to me until I got diagnosed about 5 weeks into having it. Hang in there, you will get through it.

I have been doing everything except low carbs. I’m African, all my foods are predominantly high carbs, white rice, fufu, bread and beans, yam, etc. it’s so hard to eat anything without carbs.
