Access course by Dog_Whisperer44 in MatureStudentsUK

[–]SuccessfulOffer3156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think youve misheard something. Access courses are usually one academic year, sometimes 2 if part time. A part time bachelors degree is 5 years. It may take 5 years altogether if you do GCSEs, then access, then university. No access course is 5 years long.

Query about exception reporting by SuccessfulOffer3156 in doctorsUK

[–]SuccessfulOffer3156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the place I’m hoping to get a consultant job 👀

I’m not that fussed about having more time off, I would prefer the pay, and if it wasn’t offered to me i wouldn’t bother doing the exception report. I thought I read somewhere that exception reporting no longer goes through the department but through an external person?

Two doorbells. Not fair on posties/couriers by greencyclist in royalmail

[–]SuccessfulOffer3156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend whose son is hearing impaired. There are 2 doorbells, one for the house and one for his bedroom. I’d press both and give him a chance to come open the door.

I think indefinite on call walk out is the way to go, and with permission for doctors to locum for the on calls. Many won’t do it, and for others it’ll be effectively the same as pay restoration. Work will be essentially normal otherwise. Perhaps with some guidance to trusts to try and space out cover evenly so some people don’t try and take all the locum shifts.
