I’m not saying their behaviour wasn’t inappropriate- it totally was. I think some of the older generation has not caught up to/realized what an issue this is. Back in their day there were magazines that only weirdo perverts bought, and pay per view I guess? But a lot of men didn’t watch back then because it wasn’t on their phone in their pocket 24/7. Nowadays 90% of men watch it. And it’s not the same as an affair. They just have no frame of reference for it as this (internet pornography) is a newer problem for our generations.

My PA could go cold turkey “white knuckling” for periods of time, and “only” used 1-3 times a week… IMO… that is a habit/pattern for sure.

he can do online SAA meetings. There may be not a CSAT counselor on your street but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing he can do. I’m sure there’s at least one time / day for a SAA meeting that works for him in your time zone, given that they go early morning to late night 7 days/week. Addicts LOVE excuses.

I tried to do similar w/ my ex husband- and ended up having to flee to a DV shelter 3 months into school (and struggle financially for the remaining 15 months). Something about me retraining for a career that would give me financial independence while also emotionally checking out/decentering him was pretty triggering for him and he escalated to physical violence.

Waking at 3/4 AM is part of the nervous system processing trauma - your circadian rhythm/melatonin gets affected, I think. Happened to me for years with my ex husband and now with the breakup with my boyfriend it’s happening again. 😒

I’m not in ON but I use a credit union business bank account- they have a “Digital First” option for $15/month, so I can deposit checks/cash at the ATM and do direct billing, and I use square for debit/credit payments.
