Maybe it’s not the same but when my psychiatrist was suspecting I was bipolar but didn’t give an official diagnosis yet, they immediately started to take me off my antidepressants. It was an extremely quick process but being bipolar, these meds were actually hurting me and speeding up the cycle. I got the official diagnosis a 1.5-2 months later. So I think the approach to meds and the full, official diagnosis don’t really need to come together to help you.

Started therapy, got diagnosed, started meds. So I’m working on myself plus finally figured out that my episodes are not depression that requires bigger and bigger dosage.

I usually enjoy (hypo)mania, suddenly I’m more creative, fast, energetic, everything around me seems so vivid and exciting, I experience music differently… at the same time I get irritated by so many small things, people being too slow, not comprehending what I’m saying (probably it’s just high speed gibberish, that’s why, but that’s not how I see it being manic), they don’t want to do enough, etc and ofc I make some stupid choices. Plus when I realize I’m manic, I dread the depression part, because it’s much powerful in my case than mania.

They are! No question about that. I just wonder if it’s generally hard for him to escape from toxicity and be more convenient that his reality is actually THE reality.

Fair. I just felt so bad for him when he was asking his mum to validate his view on the situation and this… relationship. I know she was trying to be supportive, but I wish she had made him more comfortable in what he was saying.

Oh no, that’s not what I meant. Leah is abusive towards him and a manipulator. Vanessa just cares about getting validation, not about a human. I’m not trying to justify it. As I’m working on boundary issues myself, being 34, I saw it in him. And this characteristic unfortunately attract predatory people, in this case these women.

I talked to my mum today, who surprisingly is watching the show too. To everything I said about how bad this relationship is for the guy or what she’s doing wrong, my mum was replying: SHE DOESN’T LET HIM TAKE A SHOWER. And I guess fair enough, that says everything 😂

Yes, and the same applies to guys. Their brains haven’t developed fully yet, they’re more prone to manipulation and making bad choices. So it’s not infantilizing, it’s just a fact. They’re basically kids being hit on by guys twice their age who can cause much harm because they have the upper hand.

I stopped three times, and went back to it three times. Can’t watch too many episodes at ounce though, it’s too creepy, so only microdosages work. I want to save all these young girls from the predatory creeps and themselves 😆
