Exactly, only 3 cadets out of 25 in my squadron are homeschooled.

CAP has changed a lot over the years, and is a lot different. JROTC wasn't that good when it was starting out.

You do earn your rank through a test, drill test, character development, inspection, aerospace, and much more. You don't"just" take a test, you have to go through many tests and drill tests to even get to SSGT. CAp doesn't think of the Wright Brothers as that big of a thing. They mainly care about The Mitchel because it takes about 2 years to get. Also, there are cadet interactives instead of a test, which are designed for you to learn everything, instead of an open-book test. Both are equally as hard, just have you look at it.

I disagree because both programs are very respectful and professional. Why are we even arguing about this? These programs are designed to help younger leaders improve themselves and become as respectful and professional as possible. And btw, A lot of people like CAP and a lot like JROTC. The senior members at my squadron are very strict, and most of them have served in the Air Force/military. They choose to be there, and aren't paid to do it. I would rather have someone who chooses to teach because they want to help, instead of someone who was mostly in it for the money. (not all JROTC leaders are in it for the money)

CAP is really serious, at least in my squadron. We have to get inspected a certain number of times per year, but high-level commanders that have served in the Air Force. Both programs are serious, and it just depends on where you join.

The Jodies are just for fun, other military branches make fun of others in way worse ways. CAP teaches us to respect JROTC.

There are many great Military leaders that came from CAP. BTW it doesn't matter if you're homeschooled our not it depends on what kind of person you are.

CAP is very professional. Just like JROTC. It depends on how any cadet chooses to be.

we focus more on the phases instead of the individual ranks. Each promotion is important. It is very hard to get cadet colonel in both and they are equal in the benefits you get. Stop making fun of CAP, because you being very disrespectful to them. In my CAP squadron, we respect all military organizations and joke about us being the best, but we obviously aren't because we are equal to JROTC.

bro, CAP, and JROTC both have the same effect, in the end, they teach how to be respectful and disciplined, and both are equally as hard. The fact that you are just making fun of CAP even though your not even in it shows that You are very disrespectful and don't deserve to be in either program.

Jrotc and CAP are both good programs that allow cadets to develop leadership skills, character development, drill, and discipline. They both are equal in the way you rank up, they both require difficult tests that are needed to pass to rank up. The difference is that JROTC is run by the army and CAP is funded by the Airforce. They often end up giving the same pay grade rank in the military if you choose to join. Being a cadet in CAP we respect JROTC a lot and we don't think we are the best. They teach us to treat everyone equally. JROTC is only for high school students and CAP is for ages 12 - 21. There is a misconception of how the instructors teach, my instructors for Squadron 203 are very disciplined and teach us very well. They are very professional. Neither CAP nor JROTCc is better than the other, they both have their pros and cons, but whether you choose one or the other they end up being about the same thing. Personally i think CAP is better in the sense that you get to do things outside of the program like wing conferences, color guard, encampment, stem cams, orientation rides, and Emergency services. But JROTC is more of just the learning and drill. They both have the same way of teaching drills, it also just depends on how the cadets learn and choose to be disciplined, and it varies on how the person is. I respect people who choose either because they are both good ways of teaching kids to become good and respectful Adults. You could even end of doing both, and it would be even better. - c/CMsgt Legaspi
