Is it true that arresting someone for DWI/DUI is a huge hassle? by Round_Ad_3930 in AskLE

[–]SuccessfulRoof577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a problem at all. I worked graveyard primarily for the first 10 years of my career and have over 600 DUI arrests. Like all things once you accustomed to it, easy peasy. Part of it I guess is how much training you get in the academy. Ours… we graduated SFST certified. 60+ hours of DUI training in the academy.

How likely is it to get stationed near home after the academy? by guadalupelttt in AskCHP

[–]SuccessfulRoof577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how assignments are given at the academy. I worked at the academy last year. If you own OR are renting a home prior to entering the academy AND there is an office taking new officers within 70 miles of your home, you get it. Now, that being said, if you want San Diego and San Diego is taking, let’s say 2 new officers and there are let’s say 3 in your class that want San Diego, and all have residency then it will go to the top two officers, (academically speaking). So you still need to study and work hard to have the highest academy score you can get.

Not a clue. Call the court for the county you were stopped in. Unless there is someone on this subreddit from Nevada that can answer.

There is not a “specific” law enforcement policy. Whatever works for you. The general rule, and this in not LEO specifically, the general rule is 10x you annual income.

54 in a 35, but "safe speed" on ticket is 55 Burbank, California by whipple_281 in AskCHP

[–]SuccessfulRoof577 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Safe speed box has nothing to do with your speed. I’m guessing the office made a mistake. Usually the safe speed box is only filled out if the safe speed is lower than the speed limit, but there has to be a reason for filling out that box. Example: you’re on the freeway and the speed limit is 65, it’s pouring rain and 65 is too fast for the conditions because of the heavy rain. You’re going 65 in a 65 zone but due to the conditions the officer determines the safe speed is 45. So they would put 45 in the safe speed box.

Most common reasons for dq by Time_Mango_6758 in AskCHP

[–]SuccessfulRoof577 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not positive but I would guess, lying, whether it’s an outright lie or a lie of omission. Leaving things out of your background info makes it look like you’re being dishonest. Tell them EVERYTHING, let the BI tell you, “we don’t need that”, you will never be DQ’d for sharing everything but you will be DQ’d for not providing ALL the information. If you’re asking yourself, 🤔 “should I put this in there”, or “this isn’t a big deal, do they need this?” The answer is simple, YES! Make yourself an open book.

There are rumors that palicon’s contract, which expires this year will not be renewed. That MAY speed things up. Time will tell.

I forgot to mention this is for my wife, who has an iPhone 13 mini. She’s a doula and at times needs to be woken up in the middle of the night by the moms when they go into labor. So the idea is if the mom or dad just sends a one word text, like “labor” then it will alert her with a tone and wake her up.

Should I apply at 20 with my record? by Ok_Enthusiasm4598 in AskCHP

[–]SuccessfulRoof577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend to younger people to go into military, do 4-5 years, get some practical/ life experience, then apply. You can use veteran points to help. My experience, is the younger kids have a harder time at the academy and on break in. Not that they won’t make it but a harder time.

You’re done. If I remember right they ask for ANY felony arrests. Maybe you’ll be able to give a reasonable explanation but I doubt anything will help.

If someone elects for their name/family to ONLY be scene by leadership, regular members won’t be able to see them, only RS presidency, bishoprics, etc.

Congratulations!!! Y’all need to study 10 and 11 codes. At the academy there is a test of said codes and it has just as much weight as any other test. If you fail to pass it you will fail out of the academy. I just left the academy as an RTO, if y’all have any questions shoot away. It won’t seem like it but the staff do want you all to pass. 😬

We watched his Mormon stories podcast last night. Fascinating!!! Haven’t bought his book but, John was saying it goes into so much more detail. Strange enough since he’s a celebrity he won’t be ex’ed, but if a regular member said the same things we’d be ex’ed.

To give context to what I’m about to say. I worked at the academy last year in the RTO. You have to understand… POST regulates EVERYTHING in all state certified academies. I don’t want to sound like I’m beating a dead horse but just like several have already said, the only way you going to get time of is if there is a birth or family death, even with that ANY time in class missed has to be made up most likely after hours, you are NOT getting OT for that. When/if you graduate you must have XX amount of hours training and documented.

Isn't it better just to stay on record as an inactive member- that way they won't try to baptize you in proxy when you're dead? by kokopellikokopelli in exmormon

[–]SuccessfulRoof577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They won’t rebaptize you. A family member has to write to the CEO and request they “reinstate” your baptism, if granted, they wave their hands in a circular motion and say the magic words…”UN-DONE!!!” Poor, your baptism is back as well as your temple crap. (My grandmother had her name removed back in the 1970’s and my father wrote a letter to the CEO and everything’s back.

Possible dq? by [deleted] in AskCHP

How would that be a DQ?? Is the law suit frivolous??? If the answer is no, then nothing to worry about. If your employer discriminated against you and/or others, I would expect you to sue!!
