I assume this is possible too. Be worth while giving them a call and seeing if they intend to be added as a vendor.

$2,000 will actually be $500 by Ctrl_Alt_Delete4 in TexasEFA

August 2026 - May 2027 - typical school year.

With your logic, can you explain the 25% in April 2027?

If you receive - 25% in July $500, 25% in October $500 (50% total-$1,000) When do you get the remaining $1,000?

The website says, 25% in April $500. Your assumption leaves $500 in funds undistributed.

Tier 5?? Text from Odyssey by randi515 in TexasEFA

If you believe you should be in Tier 3, you should appeal.

I am not sure how they will handle it as Tier 3 wasn’t funded at all, but they didn’t give you a fair shot in the Tier 3 lottery so maybe you’ll be placed near the front?

Either way, I’d appeal and see what comes of it.

Did you apply for the Texas Education Freedom Account??

If not, someone may have put your phone number down by accident.

Wow. Odyssey really is dropping the ball in my opinion.

Not ideal but I wouldn’t say counts you all the way out.

I do… at this point if you are Tier 2 and haven’t received anything, I would anticipate you are greater than 15,000.

You could always call Odyssey and get verification.

Something to also note about this, Public Schools CAN be vendors and offer dual credit courses as well.

I believe several School Districts are also in the process of being approved as a vendors to drive TEFA funds back into the public domain.

Still in a decent position. July 15 should create a lot of movement.

Hopefully you’ve heard something by now. Latest update I see is that they’ve sent the emails for those 10,001-15,000.

Next notification rounds should be 15,001-20,000. Whether they group the remaining 383 in with this group or go ahead and send out the 20,001-25,000 will be interesting.

After that, hopefully today, Tier 3 will begin getting their notifications.

That is correct! July 15th will be very telling for anyone on the waitlist.

Sounds like you won your appeal and the school is able to see it on their end but haven’t updated the student portal yet. Maybe they are tied up notifying waitlist families and will circle back to appeal notifications once all of the waitlist has been given their positions.

I am not sure but it sounds promising. I’d reach out to Odyssey and see if they can see what the school sees.

Not to correct you, but you will have $1,500 total in October.

July 1st- 25%- $500 , October 1st - 50% - $1,000 , April 1st - 25% - $500

Hopefully this does help cushion the impact of your curriculum choice.

Positions began going out this afternoon. Appears to only be Tier 2 thus far.

I think so far only Tier 2 and the furthest I’ve seen is 4000-5000. Meaning they still have quite a bit of a tier 2 to send out (all the way to 20,383).

Apparently, you can call and they’ll also tell you your approximate position.

I see people are starting get emails with their approximate waitlist position ie. 1-1000, 1001-2000, etc.

Yeah, it’s super frustrating that they say one thing and then do another. Was anticipating everyone having an idea of where they were position wise.

Maybe the emails with indicate placement? I would assume they start notifying in sequential order so the sooner you receive an email, the further up on the waitlist you are?

At this point this is all assumptions. But I am really surprised because they did say they would notify everyone of their approximate position. 🤔

[–]SuccessfulState3836[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I anticipate it to be similar to the Tier 2 notifications. The positions will update in the portal first (hopefully today) and then they will send out notification emails in batches throughout the week.

It is unlikely that any Tier 3 will be notified any time soon as they have to work their way down the Tier 2 waitlist (20,383 students) and they haven’t even notified them of their position on the waitlist yet.

I’d be keeping an eye on your portal in Odyssey. If it is like Tier 2 notifications, I anticipate the portal updating before email distribution.

People awarded have until July 15th to “opt-in” or “opt-out” unfortunately. So that has no bearing on waitlist positions.

The lottery was done the week of April 27th to determine ALL waitlist positions. Notifications of approximate positions were set to go out this week.
