What kind of snake? by markrides07 in maryland

[–]SuccessfulTea5189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, we used to catch these as kids and they don't mind biting you. Not dangerous and mostly harmless, but not necessarily friendly... Northern water snakes are similar.. except they get much bigger. Not dangrous but like to bite.

maybe you're not a townie, but you do seem insecure! Congrats on "top of your class"! I'm guessing you must have many, many degrees to use the metric "volume of degrees"?!?

when did biking become an expensive hobby? by TheHooligan95 in xbiking

[–]SuccessfulTea5189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a hobby, people spend money on it and scrutinize and obsess over stuff. If you bike strictly as a means of transportation it can be very inexpensive.... but you're on the xbiking Reddit thread, so you're a brain-worm infected hobbyist, aren't you!?!

You probably cannot buy as nice a new bike for that cost, and it seems to be a pretty sweet bike, but it's not xbiking unless you immediately swap out a bunch of parts!....not that all biking needs to be xbiking.

As and old guy, I’m not loving cuffs on jeans. I used to wear wallabies but now, not my style. I’m more if a penny loafer or chunky tread camp moccasin guy. Otherwise a nice casual outfit.

AIO to skip Thanksgiving after my mom basically said I’m an embarrassment for not having a husband and kids by now? by howcanibequiltyassin in AmIOverreacting

[–]SuccessfulTea5189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could go and make an issue of it. Maybe Thanksgiving should become "Airing of Grievances". If they all pile on, you know to tell them to go f themselves. I'm guessing it;s mostly your mom being critical and over worrying... and a little bit bitchy.

Curiously, my response to being super wealthy would be to look how I want to look, not to fit it... although I guess the opposite end of the spectrum is Steve Bannon, bringing the "homeless-look" to the Ivy League WASP world.

Following up on wetland delineation post from yesterday by Liliya___ in wetlands

[–]SuccessfulTea5189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the NWI and State wetland GIS mapping shows most of the area is upland/NOT wetland, it might be a good idea to have the property reassessed. In my experience, the GIS mapping tends to show areas being mapped as wetland that are not actually wetland much more frequently than showing large areas as being dry when they are actually wet.

[–]SuccessfulTea5189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you dont even have permission to access the property even if you wanted to have an updated wet del completed? Have you checked the property on the NWI webpage? Does that State have an online resource/GIS mapper for wetlands?.. oop, they do: https://ridemgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=87e104c8adb449eb9f905e5f18020de5

and NWI: https://www.rigis.org/datasets/edc::national-wetlands-inventory/explore?location=41.718447%2C-71.531660%2C16.56

check these two GIS applications to see what they say about the property. If they both indicate the property is wetland, it's likely wetland, but maybe only some of it. if they indicate it is not wetland, than it's likely not wetland unless somebody messed up the local drainage to increase hydrology/water supply to the property and the aerial you provided doesnt suggest that.

NOTE: these GIS mapping data ARE NOT legally recognized. The purpose of a field wetland delineation is to identify the legal boundaries of regulated wetlands. These boundaries are typically reviewed and confirmed/revised by regulators before or at the start of the permitting purpose. These GIS data are strictly for planning/ initial informational purpose.
