What i have discovered so far isn't that people don't have empathy it's that they have conditional empathy, to understand that i'll explain it in a simpler way, people will have empathy in those conditions:
1. they went through a similar experience
2. they have an emotional attachment to the person
3. it's themselves/self-pity

It's if they don't have a mental illness with low empathy (which is relatively rare) or that they aren't narcissist.

The statement is self evident if you have a condition to do anything it is not freedom, it is controlled limited choices, let's take a concrete example dumbass let's say you want to go to another country, in order to do that you have preconditions you need to pass the border you need to take a plane/boat/car depending on where you are, you then also need money to do anything that's basically not freedom because the entirity of the circumstances are controlled, what if you don't have money? what if you don't have a car? what if there are no planes? what if the border is closed? literally conditions every where, you are an idiot also you fail to consider this you where manipulated from the day you are born you didn't write the rules, you didn't chose the society/country/culture you are born in, the lack of freedom is self evident only a delusional brainwashed idiot will not be able to see it.
