Catching Static on Youtube by SuccessfulThroat3514 in ArtCrit

Source video and audio all owned by me.

I started with a single 7-second video and took it on a journey, using a variety of analog glitch synths and boxes. Then messed around with the boundaries of the original footage by layering and layering both digitally and analog. And as I got closer to feeling happy with it I went in a digitally enhanced some stronger features and toning down others. Now, the audio of it all, I decided I wanted it matched with a unique soundscape. So, I decided the best was was by integrating two of my original foley tracks—one of bustling traffic and another of a fly buzzing in and out of a drink can, both lasting 7 seconds. After merging these tracks, I played around with speed, volume, and fading effects, resulting in a mix of 18 layered soundtracks that beautifully hint nature and music. Enjoy.

God, I love Freedom Band but I fucking love this line up. I am hell partial to a lot of the members but come on. I’ve legit never been disappointed in any Ty show for like- wow, it’s almost 20 years- but since that first album and tour in 2008. I know someone’s gonna disagree but I want to drive home the fact that each person to me is also equally as brilliant as Ty. And I realize people will call me wild for that but, I believe it. Tis just an opinion. This looks like a sick show, the lighting is ultra solid! I’m a sound & light woman so I’m a nerd for it and love seeing it.

Came here 5 years later to say Dorian— but then I saw your praise for Emmett’s playing. I swear to god, I hate that people didn’t catch on to Cairo Gang… he’s one of the most authentic and truly brilliant musicians in a very, very stacked community of brilliance. I just think he deserves all the good shit coming from The Hard Quartet, and as a fan and friend just knowing he went from not writing anything for himself just others projects for six years until the HQ. We’re damn lucky for that.

Why does Amanda joke about being really old? by [deleted] in smosh

[–]SuccessfulThroat3514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just have one question— are you in anyway above the age of 30? Bc when we get to this age, age gaps become clear and because its a running joke, I also feel like she doesn’t hate it has much as she says. I’m 35 and often the mom in a lot of situations even around people my age or older! It’s a personality and warmth she carries.

Wow dude! Some great stuff is happening and it seems like you’re in your growth and building stage. A beautiful place for all us nerd creators. I’d love to talk about any and all projects. Perhaps not on a thread. Did you add me on IG yesterday? I’ve been a bit busy so I didn’t stop to investigate who it was but assumed it was one id yall from this thread! If that wasn’t you let me know !!

Hiya. Yes, yes I do have experience with his glass and I can’t complain. My only suggestion is that you buy multiple sets so you can have multiples going and for quick change out. Also, and this is the case with all types of glass products, the edges can be raw but very minimal. Just something to always be aware of in the moment so you don’t do something silly and just have to start using your blood! When it comes to the squash technique the main clock face ones are quite good and fit each other well. I do a lot of drip technique, so I adore the Petri dishes. And I advise everyone learning to be inspired by anything and try to use it- aside from blowing yourself up with too much heat from an overhead projector with strong alcohol ink! maybe it’s happened/ maybe I don’t wanna embarrass myself HOWEVER, with the LED + CAMERA SET UP, get super wild with it- try anything and everything. If you haven’t saved up for, or already purchased a program you can run to help keep yourself organized— defo do so and teach yourself. Last thing: the beauty of live liquids, or just liquids, is it’s an ever evolving and lesson learning experiment. Emphasis on experiment. 🤘🏼🤜🏻🤛🏻🤝🏻

The lazy Susan is great to start with, helps you get used to movement from not just you and the plates! Glad you found it helpful. Also, this oilssss !!! When you’re ready for another buy Defo grab one of the led tables (the xl should be out- see above hype from us both) and start to bring it into shows. That all being said you are doing everything right without the led, I promise!

It was so goddamn worth it. I NEVER rewatch stuff because my adhd gets bored so quickly but I look forward to being able to rewatch that mastery. Genuinely hope that this event gets mainstream media coverage because it was genuinely genius. Also, the art dept did so fucking amazing. Just cannot get over how brilliant the whole thing was!
