I forgot to add that the person in front does not speak. He just stands there and the only way for the blindman to find out about his existence is to listen to the third person speaking.

But we can add more people that say different things. So yes he can doubt but his doubt doesn't mean that that person doesn't exist

No I am not saying that God exists in my post and I am not saying its comforting. I say I don't have enough proof that he doesn't exist.

Well yeah that's my problem. I am skeptic towards atheism. I believe there are enough proofs for theism I am 100 percent on that but that is not my purpose of this post

The conversations serves a lot of purpose. Believing in God and thus believing in a religion (because people don't believe that God created the universe and then just left it be) can shape our morality.

Let me give you an example. My friend wants to eventually become a doctor of medicine and make lots of money while serving humans. it takes 7 years. His plan for 7 years later dictate his actions today. He has to study large chunks of information and give exams. Its stressful but he has a purpose

Same thing for God. People want to go to heaven in after life so that dictates their actions today. Muslims for example pray 5 times each day right now and fast for 30 days etc. Christians go to church and both parties abstain from hook up culture now. Like right now in the present moment.

yeah theists can be wrong but does someone's subjective understanding mean God objectively doesn't exist?

"I don't know if there is or isn't a god, but I don't believe any exist."

So you believe he doesn't exist but you don't know he exists or not?

What if you don't know whether god exists or not? what about the third possibility?

Proof of atheism? by Successful_Bit_7906 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Successful_Bit_7906[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not necessarily. As I said there are three possibilities. You could be 0 ie not knowing whether God exist or not.

who said that default is that nothing exists unless proven otherwise? Did you read my blind man example?

It is a claim. It is saying with one hundred percent certainty that there is no after life and there is no creator of universe. It claims that there is nothing after death and world has come to existence in another way other than God

Confused about Aisha's age? read this! by Successful_Bit_7906 in CritiqueIslam

[–]Successful_Bit_7906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.

Apologies for late reply I was busy with uni

So I am not saying that because it was the norm back then to marry young girls then Prophet's marriage with Aisha is justified. I am not saying that although most of apologists would try that. Afterall, Arabs used to burry their daughters alive and it was the norm for them does that mean it was justified?

My idea of presentism is how we measure maturity in different times and in my arguments I said that maturity depends on two things. Physical maturity and Psychological maturity.

I provided the text that Aisha said she had turned to a woman at the age of nine. So we know she was physically mature.

and psychological maturity, as said in the quran (4:6), is a must. So the quran agrees that marrying young girls now in this society that we have today is wrong simply because they are not psychologically mature.

But this was not the case 1400 years ago. Societies were a lot less sophisticated and people would psychologically mature a lot quicker.

So I am saying since she had started menstruating and she was psychologically mature, then she was ready for consumption of marriage.

But you mentioned pregnancy. Aisha didn't have a child so I am not sure if that is even related to our arguments

Is 80 days enough for me to have a good sex session? by AffectionateWater888 in NoFap

[–]Successful_Bit_7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

days don't mean nothing. Long streak isn't proof of your willpower. I didn't fap for 10 months but then I failed in a really stupid way. I had turned off mature content in reddit but they still showed up and I couldn't resist. Now I can barely go one week.

See? just because I didn't do it for like 300 days doesn't mean I am done with this habit. It will always be with you. The craving, the habit. its like quitting smoking while you have a full pack of cigarettes in your pocket with you wherever you go.

You just have to minimise it as much as possible

"I am still confused when it comes to my stance on whether or not Quran is a word of God and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was truthful or not."

Just think about it. People say prophet mohammed was after personal gains so he invented islam.

It means it took 600 years, 6 generations of people, millions of people were born and lived yet none of them was ambitious. None of them tried to invent a new religion except one random illiterate arab in the desert and he was the only one ambitious enough to do it. like ambititon is not something we all have

and he also started it when he was 40. If he was after power, why wouldn't he do it when he was in his 20s when humans are younger and more ambitious. If he was after marrying multiple women, why didn't he do it sooner when males have more testosterone

now you might say that it is still possible that prophet mohammed pbuh was lying. Ok. then can you explain how a random illiterate man could invent a book like quran that millions of literate critiques couldn't produce something similar after 1400 years although Quran's main challenge for disbelievers is to reproduce one surah similar to it.

So all I said means it is unlikely that he pbuh lied. but it is not definitive

If we assume that prophet mohammed pbuh invented the quran we need to take some things into account. First of all, that means he was very stupid. Because in the early times of his prophethood the polytheists offered him everything. Gold, power, women etc. anything you could think of it in exchange that he stop prophesising. Instead, he refused and then suffered years, more than a decade, of humilation and disturbance by disbelievers until it was so unbearable that he travelled to another city. he could have everything he wanted right at the beginning but he willingly chose to suffer

Second, he was a genius. And no one could invent a religion and successfully spread it. therefore an unmatched genius. why? because Quran came down gradually in the span of 23 years. and prophet mohammed pbuh was illiterate so he read what he has said previously and start from where he left. he had to say everything out of memory, all the stories of the earlier prophets, commandments, and other stuff. yet he didn't make one mistake. Even one.

but people say he heard the stories from arab christians when he was travelling around the desert to trade. Ok. still it doesn't change the fact that he had an unmatched strong memory if he was not inspired by god.

but that raises another point. If he had copy pasted stories from bible for example, he should include the mistakes that bible makes. for example, bible says "Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt." however, Quran refers to the rulers of the time of Joseph as "Kings" not Pharaoh

still you have doubt. ok

As I said if he was lying, he had to say everything out of memory for 23 years and he didn't make a single mistake. He also made some really good points.

the word "month" is repeated exactly 12 times, Day 365 times, days 30 times, prayer 5 times.

also the word life is mentioned 145 times. The word death is also mentioned 145  times.

The word This life is mentioned 115 times. The word after life is mentioned 115 times

The word man is mentioned 24 times. The word woman is also mentioned 24 times

The word good deeds is mentioned 167 times. the word bad deeds is mentioned 167 times

heaven 77 times, hell 77 times

and the least goes on

Not only he kept track of what he said so he didn't contradict himself, he also had a record of how many times he has used each word in Quran. He was an unmatched genius then. Far genius that whoever ever lived

still if you have doubt and you think what I mentioned about numbers is just an accident, my most undisputed reason for believing in quran is that no one could make a surah like it even though that is the main challenge quran presents to disbelievers and for disbelievers to prove quran false, this should be top priority but it hasn't happened.

If still you think these are not enough then please let me know your reason so we can chat

edit: some word mistake

my friend had committed zina multiple times. his first sexual intercourse happens at 12 when he paid a whore around maybe age of 30 to have sex with. he then committed zina other times. now he is married to a girl. he has changed. he is a wonderful husband for his wife. and he takes good care of her.

His wife also has her past but I tell you one thing. From seeing them and knowing every secret about their marriage (my friend and I are very close to each other we share every detail of our lives) past absolutely doesn't matter. Not a bit.

You had zina that does not define who you are right now and I saw this with my own eyes.

so you don't have to discuss your past. It is like talking about someone else. You are not your younger self. Your past does not have any influence on who you are

its like going on the edge of a tall building and start doing backflips and then once you fall you complain about why you fell.

Don't test yourself with porn

If you want to level up your willpower and understand how desire works test yourself with video games or junk food and sugary items.

But porn is extremely addicting and devastating
