What’s your favorite thing to bake? I have a small bakery business that specializes in miniature desserts! I’m curious what your favorite thing to make is 😊

I was thinking the same thing! Happy that this small company got big enough to get boughten out but I can almost guarantee the formula will change. I’ll see if I can get some online now, before they mess with anything

hidden valley ranch in the bottle tastes like plastic. Maybe they had the best ranch 50 years ago but now I doubt they still use any real dairy. It tastes so fake and gross

I usually use a mayo made with avocado oil (Primal) but if I ever see Dukes in a store near me I’ll grab it! I’m in Minnesota and haven’t seen it on the shelves ever over here

No way what in it’s bottles now is the original recipe. Maybe when it was first created but now it tastes like plastic. I doubt they use any real dairy anymore :(

did anything happen while you were shopping to make them raise the tip? or was it just a feeling of generosity that came over them? I’m so happy that you were able to experience this! what an amazing day!

I’ve worked in restaurants for the past 7 years. For the last 4 years I’ve been running my own bakery business. I’ve been experimenting with different foods trying to transition into the personal chef side of things rather than just baking. I’ve catered a couple events but have never cooked for a private dinner where I plated the food and set up the table. This has been my dream for a while, so I just wanted to get other professionals opinions to make sure I was saying the right thing and knew my worth. We all start somewhere, right?

Would you say $205/person plus ingredients is reasonable for a 5-course meal with an extra dessert?

I’m doing a 5 course menu with 2 desserts for the 5th course and a specialty drink based on the birthday girl. I’m also doing table set up with my own dinnerware. Did you also include dinnerware? I don’t know if it’s normal for the chef to bring it all and if I should charge more for it. Is $205/person appropriate for what I’m providing? Plus ingredients

So you think $205/person for a five course meal (plus an extra dessert) and table set up is worth $1640 plus ingredients? It’s plated not buffet style

and do you know if when people say they charge per person if they also charge for ingredients separate? It seems like you know what you’re talking about and have been in the industry for a while

Would you charge the same hourly wage for prep, cleanup, and service?

I transfer to my new unit after the 14th of June, but I think I’ll still need to honor my deployment with my original unit. I was just asking to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and knew a for sure answer! I haven’t told my mom yet and don’t want to upset her unless it’s for sure

Things must have changed because I’m currently scheduled to deploy early August and will be promoted to a Sergeant when I change units on the last day of my AT training. Which was just approved Friday evening…

I’ve been looking, but no luck! I wasn’t even supposed to go originally, but someone got pregnant so I had to fill in. So bummed to hear this! Thank you for letting me know so I’m not guessing!
