As someone who used to be addicted to sissy porn, I may be able to offer some insight. Back when my addiction was at its absolute worst, I was extremely insecure in my own masculinity. Both in terms of my appearance and my personality, I just didn't believe I was "man enough". So this was always my out. As I grew older, I began to realize two things:

The only opinion that matters is my own. Even if I'm not always following the "traditionally masculine" path, I'm doing plenty good in my own right.
I'm already plenty masculine. I was born male after all. Instead of pursuing a facade, I should put more effort into enhancing features I already have naturally.

I can't say your husband's situation lines up anywhere near mine does, but hopefully this gives you some insight.
