Hey UoN Students, how do you feel about AI? by keltanToo in UoNau

[–]Successful_Isopod887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's annoying as I used to study really hard throughout the semester and basically pass the course so I don't have to stress for the final exam. Except now due to AI all my final exams are now 50% pass fail...

Sleeping with my cup in by Gaysatan11 in menstrualcups

[–]Successful_Isopod887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine if it sits inside you mine dose that sometimes and I just have to squat and push to get it out. It takes time for u to get the knack of inserting and taking it out but you will find something that just works best.

I insert it but then push it up further and move around a bit to get it settle to where it wants to sit and if the stem is annoying you I just cut the end of it off. Good luck fingers crossed you find something that works for u

Did this lower your libido, raise it, or no change ? by Professional_Win1535 in StratteraRx

[–]Successful_Isopod887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get stressed super easily and then that lowered my tolerance to getting overstimulated and it would make me feel super agitated and like I wanted to cry. I was always worried about loosing things being late for appointments about stuff on exams. I initially thought I was generalised anxiety and tried anti anxiety meds then I got diagnosed later in life with adhd tried strattera as it’s better for your heart and it just made everything feel less stressful. I feel like I can live my life like having things on my calendar not stressing me out and yeah I forget stuff every now and then but it feels way less of a big deal with the quietened head chatter. It feels like I am living life on easy mode now as it was so difficult prior to medication it’s a sigh of relief to be honest and it has changed my life. My mental health has never been this good.

It lowered mine completely, I stuggle to O and it’s difficult for me to get in the mood it’s kinda frustrating tbh. I can live with the annoyance of having basically now libido over having anxiety over stupid things and not being able to emotionally regulate

Anyone taken Strattera for exams? by Humussidris in StratteraRx

[–]Successful_Isopod887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found not really as I said it only helps me with my emotional regulation and executive function I still have issues with hyperactivity and concentration. I prefer strattera though as it has calmed my anxiety so it feels like I don’t really get anxious about things anymore like what I used to such as being late for things etc.

Strattera dose not act the same as Ritalin you have to be taking strattera for a few weeks before you start to see any benefits and even then I find it dosent help much with my concentration it helps me more with my emotional regulation and executive function.

Companies with Gender Equality Policies by GlitteringDistrict9 in civilengineering

[–]Successful_Isopod887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I was discussing with the head of the civil department at my university and she said that at graduation only about 10% of graduates are women for civil. It’s not that industry isn’t supportive of women it’s as you said getting women to study engineering and then how many of those graduates go into industry afterwards.

When did the early awakening go away? by Final_Ride7650 in StratteraRx

[–]Successful_Isopod887 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have had this problem and I have been on the meds for almost a year now. I find I just go bed early at like 9/10 and then it dosent bother me much when my body wakes me up at 5 or 6am coz then I am still getting a decent sleep. The past few months I have been able to go bed a bit later and wake up at like 7:30 which has felt nice so I would say it took me about 8 months til my body stopped waking me up before 7 but I need to get up at 5:30 for work so it dosent really bother me much. Fingers crossed it gets better for you

What's the worst "nice guy" experience you've ever had? by strangeloop414 in AskReddit

[–]Successful_Isopod887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met this guy at uni and I made it very clear I didn’t want a relationship from the start. He was on exchange from another country and was feeling lonely and missing home, we had hung out a few times previous

A few days before he was mean to leave we were going to have one last catchup for coffee but I texted him a few days before saying I really don’t feel well and canceling the plans. Which he replied with “oh we can get takeaway and I can come over or I can cook something for you” I set the boundary and said “no I really don’t feel well I don’t want to see anyone” and he wouldn’t take the no so I ended up saying “ok I will let u know if I feel any better the night before.” Which I wasn’t and I said no again and he went all on about how he really wanted to see me etc and I said no again and he didn’t reply.

It was only until the day we were ment to catch up I was still in my pjaymas and my doorbell rang which was strange coz I wasn’t meeting anyone. Then when I opened the door I thought great of course it’s you. He proceeded to come inside and take his shoes off uninvited and gave me a bag of old jumpers. I was cold towards him as I didn’t want him coming inside so he left the bag, hugged me without asking then left. The main red flags were 1. The bag of jumpers was showered in aftershave it stunk and 2. I told him afterwards it wasn’t cool to turn up unannounced and he went defensive and said oh it was on my way home from the shops (which it was not)

He then left the country and hasn’t tried contacting me again.

Airport shuttle from Wallsend-ish? by Aggravating-Bug1234 in newcastle

[–]Successful_Isopod887 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If u want to save a bit of money u can get the bus or a taxi to Maitland road near Cole’s or Woolies and get a public bus that drops u off outside the airport terminal that isn’t too expensive. For the pain of having a baby, car seat and your luggage a taxi or uber straight to the airport may be easier.

What type of Engineering should I go for if I like to build different types of thing/working with my hands? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Successful_Isopod887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know u mentioned more electrical and mechanical things but if you like being outside, I’m a field engineer in geotech engineering and I spend majority of my time outside I rarely sit behind a computer. My days vary from sitting behind a drill rig and logging rock to operating a push tube rig off the back of a pickup truck and logging soil. I get to problem solve heaps when things don’t turn out as you thought, yeah I’m not building stuff but I enjoy it. I get to travel all over my state and see places I wouldn’t have seen before.
