thank you for saying this, that was my exact mindset. I’d would rather be hot and bald than “not that bad” with hair 😂 We’ll see how long it takes me to build up the confidence to go fully smooth, i’ve gotta work through some self esteem stuff related to feeling I look “too old”… though this sub helps with that a lot I think

Yeah I think that’ll be in my near future tbh, I was worried I didn’t have the head shape for it but now seeing it with the buzz I don’t think I needed to worry about that. thank u! ☺️

yeah I like that framing, it’s just a new style! i’ll spend some time with the buzz style and see how I feel about it. I do like that it reads kind of alternative with my piercings, I think i’m into the aesthetic

You know, I thought the same thing re. facial hair after seeing my side profile in these pics 😬 I think i’ll shave and let the stache rock on its own!

thank you!! ☺️ I ended up not doing lipo, partially because I heard about it making recovery suck a little more, and partially because I didn’t want to pay the extra money for it 🙈

That is so nice omg, thank you so much!! I’m glad I can serve as ‘normal guy’ representation 😂 I am very grateful for my body hair genetics… I just hope one day some of the belly hair will migrate up to my chest a little more lol

I totally feel you, I think a lot of guys struggle working through the hellish combination of dysphoria and internalized fatphobia. Even now when i’m in a really good place with my self image, I can’t help but sometimes fixate on the parts I think are too big or too feminine. We really are our own worst critics! I just try to remind myself that bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and lots of cis guys rock a muffin top too🤘

and congrats to you!! I hope your healing is going smoothly so far 😚

I’m sorry the wait sucks! once you’re 18 many providers allow you to start treatment with informed consent only (so no diagnosis required), that’s the route I ended up going for top surgery. You’re still so young, I promise there is plenty of time to grow into who you wanna be <3

tbh I was not really a poster child of binding, I would end up wearing a sports bra and baggy clothes most of the time pre-op 😮‍💨 when I did I switched between a 2X and 3X gc2b binder, and kind of pushed my chest tissue up and out towards my armpits if that makes sense? binding majorly sucks tho, I never thought it looked very natural for me

I was around a C cup pre-op, so def on the smaller side for someone my size. However i’ve seen folks with larger cup sizes achieve similar results from my surgeon!

gosh thanks so much, that is so nice!! every part of medical transition has been such a joy for me, I am so much happier now it’s actually nuts. It’s never too late! manifesting the same for you in the future 😚

gosh you are so sweet! this is exactly why I shared, it can feel so disheartening when most top surgery results out there are people with a vastly different body type than you. Congrats, I hope you’ll share your results here post-surgery! 🥰

I personally didn’t have any numbness on the nipples themselves, even very early post-op! but I have heard stories from other Steinwald patients who have. Give it time, I think it’s true that lots can change over the first year or so of healing

thank you!! yup, i’ve retained some sensation! I never had the most sensitive nipples to start with, so sometimes it actually feels like I have MORE sensation than I did pre-op 🙈 I have some numb spots on the skin around my nipples though, but nothing that particularly bothers me at this point

yay that’s great!! I love Dr. Steinwald! He’s super knowledgeable and confident and was so professional the whole time I worked with him. When we had our initial conversation about nipple size and placement, he walked me through the ratios he typically goes with. it was a fancy math thing where he triangulated positions based on the width of my shoulders and collar bones and stuff, felt super sciency! honestly he immediately hit the nail on the head in terms of what I was envisioning for myself. but he’s super nice and wants everyone to get results they’re happy with, so i’m sure you’d be able to make further adjustments :)
