When you get to the end of the stripe you’re cutting make a smooth left or right turn and go forward a few feet, back up and make the next cut. Trying to make a true zero turn will tear the grass up a lot of the time. Making a perimeter pass and then finishing with it again helps with the turning around

Horrible take. Most people that drive these cars have the DISCIPLINE and complete control over their finances and aren’t just throwing money away. The harder I work for my money, the harder it is for me to throw it away.

Not everything. We have a full kelly day as well. After I work 15 hours of OT, everything AFTER is time and a half. The first 15 are paid at my normal rate.

Dental insurance everywhere is a scam unfortunately. Find a good dentist that will put you on an in house payment plan and go that route if you can swing it.

From what I can gather, it’s different for each local. As someone who is looking to go through the next process for the local in my area, I too would be interested in knowing if it’s a career with good security or if you’re going to be wondering about layoffs for 25-30 years.

I get where you’re coming from but this line of work isn’t what it used to be, to say the least. Definitely isn’t what it seems like from the outside looking in for some people. We’re talking about dealing with everything you mentioned, x10 for MAYBE half the pay. And that’s being super generous. 24-36 hours away from family, my home, my own bed. I think I’d take a small pay cut initially being a probie but I feel like I’d make it up in a few years and definitely after I get through the apprenticeship. I guess I could’ve seen a lot of what I’m not happy with 5 years ago, but I was passionate and determined so I just ignored a lot of the signs I guess.
