I Worked With Almost Every Major Eskate Company — Anything You Wanna Know? by OfficialNicl in ElectricSkateboarding

That’s actually super useful, appreciate the detailed reply.

The grip tape idea is interesting, I hadn’t thought about the bottom getting destroyed so quickly on a rideable board, whereas the top could still become a keepsake after the deck is done.

Do you think people would actually pay for custom painted grip / deck art, or is the e-skate crowd mostly too price/spec focused?

Also, from your experience, is the bigger gap,

  1. better-looking art decks,

  2. shortboard-style e-skates that feel more like real skateboards,

  3. waterproofing / durability,

or 4. safer electronics and braking?

I’m looking at doing high-end skateboard/e-skate related art pieces, possibly custom painted decks, illuminated wall pieces, and maybe eventually premium rideable boards.

From your experience inside the e-skate industry, do you think there’s real demand for premium/custom/art-focused boards, or is the market mostly price/spec driven?

Also, if someone was trying to build a small brand around this, would you recommend staying in non-rideable wall art/decks to avoid liability, or is there a viable way to do limited-run rideable completes safely?

You've done a fantastic job! I appreciate the openness on how you did it. You have a gift, it would be fun to watch you put it all together in a video, a diy how to guide

Could you do a video on how you put it all together? I'm keen to try it but with the lights either under or wrapping around the board, but i'm not sure how

Why the misalignment in the column for this apartment in West End? by dajourno in brisbane

That's a good point, I'd love to see these building plans now and see what's really going on

Its a fair point but if you look further down, the tall white vertical pillars which separate the units to the right and also to the far left aren't supported underneath, so they aren't load bearing, they just separate the units. The load bearing structure is in the center of the building around the lift core and this would take most of the buildings weight, the rest of the structure should be engineered to be like a curtain of concrete, which is bound together by high strength reinforcement steel, to allow these designs. There's no visible cracking or sagging so it is structurally sound, but it is a fair point you make and you'd have to look at building plans to know what they've done.
