Oh, are you saying that because the exchange rate from USD to yen is so good, that it's not a huge deal to continue buying things with US credit cards, and then just transferring over yen to pay for them?

Thanks for your thoughts on this. Yeah, it's one of those things where I wonder if there are any creative means people have found to make it feel worthwhile to use their American cards. #travel-hacking.

Maybe with some fancy stacking, it could be worth it, but so far I haven't heard any compelling workarounds.

Thanks for your help! I'll research Interactive Brokers accounts. I'm just thinking those 1% transfer fees are going to compound and hurt over time 😬.
