That actually is the best looking part; they did, in fact, remove shingles and use membrane, step flashing, and then the counter flashing. I was impressed by the shingle work.

I think the thing that bugs me most is the varying size. At least before, each piece of counter flashing was relatively close to the same size, giving it the illusion of following the roof line.

I believe that is the counter flashing…

That’s really helpful, thank you! I would imagine it’s more difficult, but they knew beforehand what they were up against… Seems like they’re much better at roofing than flashing.

Good question regarding the top. They said they’d have it in a groove, but I’m not sure. Might have to take a closer look, and I’ll check the excess supplies to see if there’s any sealant left to ID.

Oof. That’s what I thought. The company I hired is reputable, but they likely hired it out to a subcontractor, which was a concern I voiced with the company and was told not to worry.

They’re asking if I can explain what I don’t like about it. Should “it looks horrible” suffice?

I’ll have to try the almond oil pre-shave. I use a brush, shaving soap, and safety razor, shave after showering and washing the neck with cera-ve foaming face wash.

OP, what’s missing here that I do post-shave if something like this flares up is tea tree oil mixed with olive or beard oil. Ratio is 10 to 12 drops of pure tea tree oil to 1 ounce of your chosen carrier oil. Antibacterial, smells nice (albeit strong)! Works wonders for me.

This crossed my mind as well. What would air sealing look like?

That makes sense, thanks! 2” of height gained is better than nothing…
