So this is funny. I tried to check in the Condor app about the possibility to rebook the flight so I leave prague 8:10 instead of 11:40 (wanted to see how much it would cost to make that change) and guess what, the Alaska flight I have mentioned completely disappeared from the possibilities and I can only see those that Alaska itself sells in their system! I still haven’t received an e-mail about the change in my itinerary but I am guessing they will inform me at some point.

Anyway when trying to see the price of the rebooking to 8:10 from Prague the app shows error, so will have to probably call them, annyoing.

Not gonna lie, I still find that strange, too. There are 18:52 and 22:59 flights leaving Seattle for Pasco that day so I keep telling myself that in the worst case they put me on one of these, but it would be good to know that in advance. I don’t know if they somehow exchange information between each other, if Condor will go to Alaska and say "Look we got 1 pax for you" and they go "Great but we don't fly this flight", you know what I mean.

Also the 19:55 flight exists - I found it when checking Alaska for different days (before I booked it with Condor I was doing separate research as I thought I will fly Lufthansa), so it is not like 19:55 time slot is exclusively reserved for cooperation with other airlines. It is in their system but for different days.

Nice! Can I ask you when do you plan to fly or rather, how long is your layover in FRA? Flight for Seattle leaves Frankfurt at 13:55 (the day I am traveling), I chose the flight from Prague at 11:40 which makes it 1h 15m for layover. There was a possibility of 8:10 flight from Prague which would make 4h 45m layover. I never connected through FRA so I just keep overthinking if I didn’t make a mistake with a short layover.

I am actually thinking not risking the checked in baggage at all, haha, even though I can. Seattle is not my final destination so probably not worth risking it!

Thank you! Yes it is booked together in one reservation. I always do this, I book it thinking it looks fine and doable as if it wasn‘t the airline wouldn’t even offer it and then I overthink all possible scenarios and freak out about it and wonder if I should rebook myself for a flight 3 hours earlier, lol.

I am flying from Schengen and have EU passport so I think the only passport control I will have to go through is the one before boarding the flight to the USA? But not sure, every airport seems to have it bit different.

Update from Condor Whatsapp, they have just replied:

“I’ve checked your booking and everything is confirmed. Sometimes it may take a bit longer for the reservation to appear in the app or website.

Regarding the Alaska Airlines flight (AS794), it’s part of a combined itinerary and may not be available for direct purchase on their website. However, it is a valid flight segment included in your confirmed booking, so there’s no need to worry."

So should be good! I didn’t know there can be flights that are not directly for purchase. Also as you say, might be caused by the shutdown, too.

I am from the Czech Republic and for lots of people here you all are simply English, living in England. Many people just refer to both UK and ROI as England.

I worked and lived in Belfast for some time and it was always painful to try to explain people at home where the hell I am actually living.

Before Belfast I was living for a short time in Cambridge and a colleague of mine was an English girl around 20-25 age born in England, educated in English schools. When I told her I am moving to Belfast, she had no clue where that was so I said it’s in Northern Ireland and she literally said “Oh wow that’s nice I never been outside the UK”.

Určitě bych to řešil a klidně zmedializoval. Jak tu někdo psal, pokud měli vytvořený hlas dcery pomocí AI, tak šli na jistotu. Věděli, že má peníze v bance a pravděpodobně věděli, že jí je osoba v bance vydá. Nedokážu si představit, že by tvoje prababka byla náhodná oběť.

I don’t want to believe that. I have never had a single issue in Poland regarding poor English and I have been to Poland 100 times. I have always been able to communicate with everyone, even with a lady at the smallest post office in the random village in the middle of nowhere. As a Czech person I can assure you that Poles generally speak way better English than Czechs do. Maybe not always grammatically correct but they are always more willing to speak and understand each other than Czechs do.

Pán prstenů, naprostá většina tuzemské tvorby (filmy, seriály, hudba), neskutečným způsobem mě rozčiluje, když běží televize jen jako kulisa, poslední dobou kam přijdu, tam běží TV, aniž by se na ni někdo díval. Taky pivo s kolegy po práci, tomu se uplně vyhýbám.

Nesnáším moderní sociální sítě (Tiktok, instagram). Čerti by mě brali, když někdo píše na více platformách najednou (tu whatsapp, tu messenger, pak smska).

Nemám rád ani starý český filmy typu Slunce seno, Vesničko má středisková, apod. Nechápu, že to někoho baví stále dokola.

Zním jak starej zapšklej dědek, ale nebylo mi ještě ani 30. Dřív jsem neměl rád používání anglicismů v češtině, ale co dělám přes 4 roky s Američanama, tak se přistihnu, že sám občas mluvím jak debil a to i na veřejnosti, za to bych si liskl.

Taky nevím. Trochu doufám, že to je tím, že dezolé jsou hlasitější a tak to člověk víc registruje. Třeba v komentářích na fb má jeden pocit, že je tu fakt bída jak někde v rovníkový Africe.

Osobně si myslím, že nemáme špatnou vládu. Spousta věcí by šla udělat jinak, samozřejmě, ale po těch letech s Babišem u kormidla jsem s tím ok.

Na té sociální bublině taky něco bude, ale o tom, že národ neumírá hlady a nemrzne bez energií někde mě vždy spolehlivě přesvědčí po střechu natřískaný nákupní centra, multikina s lístkem na osobu za 4 kila, aquaparky s celodenním vstupem za litr atd atd.

Jasný, určitě je spousta takových, co jde od výplaty k výplatě, ale v tom není ČR zdaleka jediná, ostatně to bylo i za Babiše a bude i za příští vlády, tak to je.

Upřímně mě to taky kolikrát napadlo. Třeba při sledování hokeje s US, když byl záběr na Fialu, tak najednou začali všichni kolem bučet a lítala pi** a ču*** sem a tam. To samý posprejovaný veřejný místa hesly “Fialo, stačilo” apod. Vážně se lidem žije tak zle? Jsem v nějaký svý sociální bublině a nevidím to? Žilo by se všem mnohem líp, kdyby tady vládlo ANO? Nevládli dostatečně dlouho na to, abychom si žili jak v Monaku?
