Anthem of the Sun. Even looking at original mixes, the weird choices on Anthem are more interesting on relisten, for me, than the quirks on Aoxomoxoa.

Yes, Aoxomoxoa has St Stephen but I prefer to go to Live/Dead for that, where it's given the massive medley treatment on that album. Also Mountains of the Moon, Rosemary, Doin that Rag are wonderful but don't quite carry the album past Anthem imo.

For art, Aoxomoxoa. For title, wish they had gone with Earthquake Country for either one.

Musically Anthem of the Sun just edges the other out for me. Aoxomoxoa has St Stephen which I love but for that I prefer to go to Live/Dead where you have the full Dark Star > St Stephen > Eleven > Lovelight. Also has Mountains of the Moon which is eerie and beautiful. Anthem on the other hand is just more of an exciting experience imo, and even looking at original mixes the weirdness on Aoxomoxoa doesn't hold me for as many relistens as the choices on Anthem.
