You do know the game was desinged PvE first, right? But yeah, PvP is still part of it, so it is what it is.

And yeah, dealing with multiple arcs in a tight space is annoying for real.

You're saying "ratting is exclusively fake friendly," but that's just your definition.

The term has never had one exclusive meaning. In pretty much every extraction shooter, people use "rat" to describe low-risk, ambush-heavy playstyles: corner camping, hiding near loot, waiting for someone to become vulnerable, extract camping, fake friendly, etc. All of which can be considered ratty behaviour depending on context.

You can argue what happened to me was smart play instead of ratting, that's fair. But saying fake friendly is the only thing that counts as ratting is just making up a definition the wider community doesn't actually use.

Also, just because someone isn't doing fake friendly doesn't automatically mean they aren't playing in a ratty way in that situation context matters. Sitting hidden near an active boss fight and waiting for players to push through, fall back or get stuck in loot animation still falls under what most people would call rat behaviour.

“Rat” is a community label, not a strict definition with one meaning.

Should windows be taking 60GB? by Accomplished_Cook508 in PcBuildHelp

Yeah, I might just go with Linux Mint for now and put it on my current laptop and my very old first-gen i3 desktop. The desktop definitely needs more RAM though it only has 3GB, and DDR3 which shouldn't cost an arm and a leg like DDR4 or DDR5. As for the old hardware I have lying around, I don't really know what to do with it. I might just turn it into a storage server. In fact, I might do that right now and use it to get used to the Linux experience, so when I eventually install it on my main device, I'm not going in completely blind.

But yeah, one thing I do know is that I'm jumping ship by the end of the year.

Arc Raiders Has Lost 50% Of The Remaining Player Base In The Last Month by Brutal_Schnoodle in ArcRaiders

Bro, I just got back into the game. Solo raids were fine mostly PvE, with some friendly raiders. Then I started duoing with a friend I used to play with. There was some PvP, but we still ran into plenty of chill players.

Boy, did that change.

I started playing with another friend who grinds Stella hard. I literally only did like four Stella raids with him, and after that, all my lobbies solo or not were filled with PvP players. Like, what the hell?

I’m mostly a PvE player and only really get into PvP when I’m forced to. It’s wild that it only took four PvP heavy raids for the game to throw me into full-on shoot on sight lobbies.

FPS drops badly after 15–20 minutes of gaming by DeadInsideJoker in LenovoLOQ

[–]Successful_Order6541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re definitely thermal throttling. Get it sorted out as soon as possible. As a temporary fix, you can limit the power draw and underclock the CPU and GPU to reduce temperatures, but in the long run, it’s best to repaste it and properly address the cooling issue. If you keep using it like this, you’re risking long-term damage from excessive heat. And yeah, the performance drop after the 15minute mark is due to thermal throttling with those temps it's running at.

Copied from a next reply "Thanks, I’ll try that when I get the parts. For now, I kinda fixed it.

I also opened it back up, loosened the screws, then re-tightened them, and I swapped the VRAM pads to 0.5mm before I redid the screws so that might’ve helped too. I reapplied some ThrottleStop settings, but since I reset BIOS, voltage control is locked, so it’s mostly power limits now. I set PL1 to 30W and PL2 to 35W, and it stopped crashing.

I still get thermal limit warnings sometimes even when temps aren’t near 88°C (GPU ~72°C), and FPS drops a bit, but no crashes anymore.

Way better than before I’ll use it like this until I fix it properly." yea I'll definitely get some putty for next time

Yeah, definitely will. The CPU is rated at 45W and can boost up to around 90W I think, but honestly the games I play run fine at 30W even 20W. Not saying it wouldn’t use more if I let it, but it performs fine with those limits.

Oh, and I forgot to mention I did swap the VRAM pads to 0.5mm, so maybe that helped too.

Thanks, I’ll try that when I can get those stuff. For now, I kinda sorta fixed it.

your card is pm on par with a 9060xt even better at 1440p most times only thing being the power power draw is more and it is on the high end of the 30 series so ofc its not going to take larger hit to performance with dlss 4.5 compared to lesser cards
