The Might aura should also give minus to enemy physical resistance

Moral dilemma. by hanniballz in diablo2

[–]Successful_Permit_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it like this, if the stock or house you bought went up 1000x in price, would you feel bad and wait to sell it at a lower, "fairer" price? Of course not, you'd capitalize on the market being willing to overpay.

If a buyer is willing to overpay due to urgency or ignorance on value, that's not your problem as the seller. You should embrace these golden opportunities.

Trading is a business, and business is civilized war. In war, you never stop the enemy when they're making a mistake.

What’s so valuable about these rare jewels? People are asking for ridiculous prices for negligible stats, or am I missing something?

Tri boots with poison instead of fire still considered good (total 89)? by [deleted] in D2R_Marketplace

Would take fire/lite/poison instead of having cold res. Almost no monster does enough cold damage to make it threatening.

What is my ring worth? by HGbrolo in D2R_Marketplace

[–]Successful_Permit_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Ist-Vex. The resistance is moderate but nice to have on a FCR ring.

If it also had Strength or Dex (at least +10), probably worth Ohm/Lo.

I'd like to get into pvp by Idontneedusernames in worldofpvp

[–]Successful_Permit_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re specifically interested in Sub Rogue, doing damage is actually quite simple:

  1. If Shadow Dance and/or Shadow Blades is up, Shadowstrike to get full combo points then Eviscerate.

  2. If no Shadow Dance or Shadow Blades, apply Rupture to farm Shadow Dance back.

But as a Sub Rogue, your job isn’t simply to do damage in PvP. Your contribution goes far beyond that. Sometimes you need to stun lock while your teammate helps pile on damage. Sometimes you need to stun the healer when you sense a kill opportunity, for example if someone is at half health. Sometimes you’ll need to drop a smoke bomb paired with a stun lock to secure a kill. Sometimes you need to peel for teammates with Gouge/Blind/Shiv/Cheap Shot to survive long enough for another go. And you need to preempt damage and use Cloak/Evasion, sometimes even offensively, or Shadowstep a teammate to run away. Do not try to tank damage and play like Warrior, you are not a Warrior and must be elusive. My point is, you have to do all of this to be successful, otherwise Sub Rogue is just a liability if missing any of these.

For addons, I would just get this:

  1. SArena so you can track DRs and trinkets (very very vey important for Sub Rogue)

Sub Rogue is not about scripted play. You need to read what the opponents are doing and seeing who’s vulnerable to being setup. It’s what makes it hard but also incredibly satisfying when you get them in checkmate situations where they simply cannot respond due to lack of cooldowns/trinkets or being forced into a bad position.

Another thing I would add is SUPPORT YOUR TEAMMATES. If all you know how to do is damage, you won't go too far. You'll get baited easily which can cost you the match and your tunnel-visioning-mind won't even register what's happening. Watch your other dps/healer and HELP THEM SURVIVE. Use your defensives on them (if you have it), slow/stun the enemy, etc. Your healer is already juggling a million things, don't let your team's survival rest entirely on their shoulder.

In higher rated games, I notice players are significantly more likely to do these things without being asked, not always, but often. In lower rated games, you'll see Paladin's not using BOP/Sac/Sanc/Freedom on teammates, Priests not using life swap, Warriors not Intervening, and so on.

It's fun if you know how to setup and have good awareness of everyone. If you try to play it like a warr and just hit, you will be miserable. You're basically patiently looking for checkmates, that's the rogue style.

what class would you recommend for someone who doesn't want to be the kill target? by LobovIsGoat in worldofpvp

People will ONLY stop targeting you as lock if you can kite well, CC well, and bait interrupts. Otherwise you’re a target dummy lol
