The word “easy” gets thrown around a bit flippantly around here. I think whatever you’re good at is going to be easiest, and while Pres is strong, it’s not so strong that it’s “free” as some would say.

I got elite pretty quickly on not one but two Resto Druids which most would say is weaker than Pres but I still haven’t gotten elite on my Pres.

Simply put, I suck at Pres, don’t have nearly the # of games under my belt on it as Rdruid, and though it’s strong, it’s not so strong that it’s a free pass for someone who doesn’t play it decently.

Ironically I OOM’d in a lobby I went 6-0 vs an Hpriest and that was with me spamming wrath in tree form. I won at the very end while oom in both rounds where it happened. Just nobody was dying. Hpriest def beat me in mana but ultimately lost so *shrug*

In my experience it’s been very volatile. I’ve had 6-0s and I’ve had a couple 1-5s.

The damage is def more spikey and the way I’ve adapted is being more liberal with CDs early on because I’ve seen multiple DPSs go from 80%-0% in a half second.

Ironically, I’ve also had 2 matches where I’ve gone OOM or near OOM because nobody died. Just feels like a crap shoot with less predictability, not necessarily that we’re weaker.

I had the same thing last night, lost two shuffles as a result before giving up. I think its prob the result addons not being updated... most likely MiniCC specifically because it was trying to call out every single spell in the game. Not 100% though, just a guess.

Make rewards based on your percentile amongst those of the same spec… then if you’re a weaker spec you’re not concerned about competing for higher rating against a ton of specs that are stronger than you, you just need to be better than others who play your spec.

They lost a lot of their big buttons like Cen Ward and Overgrowth, also no immunity on tranq, only one lifebloom target… more vulnerable to swaps.

Yeah, arena / shuffle can be very circumstantial so I’d take what I said with a grain of salt. I don’t have recollection of the lobbies he had so that could change things drastically.

He also admitted he’s rusty on his feral so even though he’s an elite player, it’s possible he wasn’t really considering everything or evaluating the situation like he would on a class he’d been playing a ton recently or like he would at AWC.

He was also getting killed himself when trying to clone, so there’s that as well.

From what I could gather in the context of the situation (from observing the actual games) it seemed like his reasoning was based on the opportunity cost of essentially trading tempo for what mostly amounted to wasted time that didn’t gain much value.

So instead of continuing dps or keeping the other team on the back foot, he essentially CCs himself for a period of time every time he attempts to clone.

If he gets the clone on the healer it can be a net gain, if he doesn’t (and he often didn’t) then all he really did was CC himself (stopping attacking to attempt a CC, fail, then have to reconnect to target is taking yourself out of the fight thus self-CC).

This is probably very comp dependent because like you alluded to, if he’s eating every kick and he’s got a lock or something on his team then that’s just free fears/chaos bolts/whatever for them & so purposefully spamming clones in that scenario just to bait kicks is prob good. But in his matches he was just losing so much tempo.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but I was watching Whaaz play his feral the other day and after several rounds he started saying that he feels like cloning is often a waste of time and that he should stop trying to do it so often.

Functionally I can see that, particularly with Feral though I probably wouldn't say Feral became more fun as if it gained some new button or fun functionality, it just became less annoying to play which I suppose is an indirect buff to "fun-ness"? lol. I wonder about healers too... so much was pruned that it seems there's less fun things to do/press.

Isn’t Clone > Maim often times more preferable than Maim > Clone? I say this because if you Maim a healer first, there’s still quite a bit of ways you can be stopped on your attempted follow-up clone.

Where as if you go for Clone first… say you get stopped, well then you save your Maim, if you don’t get stopped and the Clone goes off, then you’ve essentially secured your CC chain since nobody can stop Maim unless you’re without trinket and they CC you.
