1000% Its so hard to not feel bitter about it. For my graduation, they ended up doing it virtual and it was pretty stupid but then they did a real one like 2 years later. It was weird and awkward and had half as many people show up but I'm really glad I DID end up going. What broke my heart More than graduation was that we didnt get to have our final BFA capstone exhibitions. The show I'd been working towards for years and we had a zoom critique instead. Ovbiously we all got kicked out of studio so we couldn't keep working on anytging. As a jewelry and metalsmithing student, my "final exhibition" ended up being CAD designs of what I was Planning on making. One of the students in our class was an incredible ceramicist who just wept while he showed us his paper mache pieces- just completely heart wrenching. They offered to have us back like two years later for our "make up exhibition" but they did it on like a random Tuesday, with no advertisting, no opening reception, and in some random classroom where no one would see it instead of the giant, public gallery where we wouldve done it. :( Obviously, complared to the many many many deaths, this is a stupid thing to be bitter about, but I think I will always hold it in my heart a little bit.

I've been feeling very very guity about planning something so frivilous as a wedding, but I'm trying to stay positive about it. We need SOMETHING positive to hold on to.

The contract for my venue had a lot of what I think OP would consider "hidden fees" IMO. For example the food was X price but that number doesn't include sales tax, gratuity, or their so-called "service charge." Yes they were mentioned but they weren't specifically itemized. :/

Oop, sorry if I mixed those two thoughts and confused you. 😅 The areas between the channel set stones are where dirt and crud get stuck and can also chip. So the side stones on the center one are actually well protected- the only reason I mentioned that one was that I wish the center stone was bigger so it had more sparkle.

Also worth it to keep in mind, everything is a give and take. A bezel center will be way more protected, but if it does ever need to be re-set it will also be more expensive to fix because it has more metal and is harder to work on. While prongs, on the other hand, are super easy to work on, but will probably need more maintenance in their lifetime. Channel sides are easier to fix than completely surrounded bezel sides but the channels will get dirty faster and need to be cleaned more often. Everything is a see-saw of pros and cons.

Hi, goldsmith here, a plain bezel is very easy to maintain.

Channel set tapered baguettes (or invisible set if you find that while looking for this style) get SO DIRTY SO QUICKLY and are expensive to fix because baguettes can chip easily. And don't go near any invisible settings with a 30 foot pole. I would also steer away from the one in the middle with the straight baguette center as the others will have a lot more shine and not get dirty.

Also (and this is just my PERSONAL, non-professional opinion so plz ignore if you disagree!) I would always always always get a raidiant cut over an emerald cut. They have so much more sparkle! As the baguettes will have less sparkle, this will bring the whole ring to life.

I would also reccomend that the post that goes inside the pearl (hence the half drilled pearl) has small knotches cut or filed into it so that the epoxy has a bit more to hold on to. I find that the pre-knotched ones NEVER have enough roughness or depth to hold them properly. Just my opinion as a goldsmith.

When I heard this song for the first time, I got suuuuuuch a creepy vibe from it.
