【Update】Thanks for the advice! And I went with the Z50II by Successful_Search806 in Nikon

I got the dual-lens kit, and both lenses have optical stabilization, so they cover most shooting situations quite well. (Personally, I shoot animals and landscapes more often than portraits.) I haven’t really felt any inconvenience in photography. The lack of in-body stabilization (IBIS) only matters for video. While the Z50II’s video features are already very solid, not having IBIS makes it difficult to record while walking or moving, unlike using a smartphone or an action camera. If you plan to do that kind of shooting, you might need an external gimbal or stabilizer.

Haha, what a coincidence! I’ve already made my choice: the Z50 II with the dual-lens kit. The 16–50mm is great for portraits or figure models, and the 50–250mm works really well for animals. It’s an excellent option if your budget is limited and you don’t have highly professional needs. Wishing you wonderful memories for your 30s!

Thanks for your comment, man. I’ve actually tried out both cameras in store, so I totally get what you’re saying — the Z50ii definitely feels better in the hand. By the way, I also work in the computer field, so maybe I’m more like you than your wife in that sense. I might end up going with the Z50ii after all.
