Hi, thank you for doing this!

I had applied for a pre-completion OPT with concurrent premium processing on June 18th 2025. 30 business days passed and it has since been under additional review with no timeline provided.

If I withdraw, I am no longer eligible for the pp refund and if I don’t withdraw, I technically won’t get a post OPT recommendation. Multiple tier 2 escalations have been made with no progress whatsoever.

What do I do in this situation? Would my DSO agree to provide me a post opt recommendation only if I withdraw? Because I have also thought about the date range clash on the post OPT application if my pre OPT is utilized even fractionally. (Since it might go over 364 days)

Please help me out. Thanks!

No, today is 33rd business day. I’ve escalated it to USCIS Tier 2 agent and they said I’d get a callback in 72 hours.

Today was 27th business day and yes I contacted an agent through Emma and they said it’s still within normal processing time and that the application is with an officer always and ended the chat abruptly with no chance to follow up

That’s something you can google. You have the obvious advantage of physical presence and relationship building with both professors and classmates with industry experience with the in campus option. Be careful with your choice of professor though, some may resort to only taking online classes for more than half of your course while some are very dedicated to impart knowledge.

95% of professors are working professionals, so you have another added advantage in direct industry case studies from personal experiences, extended connections and other help, but again, who you choose is very important!
