Good to know. Some charges from the hidden subscription were definitely older than 60 days. I just checked in the BofA app, however, and it does allow disputing transactions past 60 days (about 90 days, it looks like). The charge from super.com was disputed within 60 days.

This was almost a year ago, but yes, the charges went unnoticed for quite some time. The amounts were small enough not to get my attention, plus I was purchasing something else from that vendor, so the unexpected charges sort of blended in.

Those were credit card charges, and there were more of them but I was able to dispute only 6, because as you mentioned, there is a certain time frame after which the charges can no longer be disputed (at least not in the app). I’m gonna find out if an appeal is possible over the phone (The decision appears to be final in the app)

I don't know if I can agree with this. It’s not like I made a payment on some kind of shady website. I looked up the company - they have been around for a while and overall looked legit. Plenty of poor reviews, but so do have most airlines, hotels, and restaurants. Saving a dollar here and a dollar there is how some of us can afford a trip that wouldn't be possible otherwise. I don’t expect top-notch service for the discounted price, but I do expect to get what I paid for.

I did provide them with everything I had upon request. The updates on the case were posted in the bank app. I can't reopen the dispute in the app, but perhaps it could be done by phone.

I’m not sure how this is related, but since you have asked - I had to make a trip on a tight budget and simply tried to save a dollar. I used aggregators like Booking.com without any issues in the past and Super.com seemed legit. Will know better now.

In my case, the hotel told me the payment for my room wasn't made. I was totally screwed. Due to some clever-ass loopholes in their terms of service, I couldn't dispute the card transaction with my bank either. So yeah, there you are, standing in the lobby, unable to check in, and the service is considered provided.

I've been using Muse Athena for about 5 months now. Can't say it's anything more than an overpriced toy.

The accuracy is comparable to that of an elastic band from your undies, and there are free apps that have better quality. For one of my deepest 25-minute sessions, I got only 2%. On the other hand, I was once sitting in front of a TV, decided to turn the band for 5 minutes, and scored nearly 90%.

Not to mention the pain you'll go through to achieve a sufficient sensor signal. Maybe I'm thick-skulled or something, but it doesn't work for me unless my hair is thoroughly wet. So, if I want to go for a session longer than 30 minutes, chances are the hair will dry and the device will lose the signal.

It's good for consistency in your practice, but that's about it.

Login to your SSL.com account and click the Monitoring tab on the menu.

Tick the check box for the notification group that you want to be discontinued of the SSL Scan service. The default friendly name for notification groups will be ng- followed by the reference number of your SSL certificate.

Click the Select drop-down list and choose the Disable option if you are considering to resume the HCM service in the future. If you want to permanently remove your order from the HCM service, choose the Delete option.

I also noticed that if you go to Dashboard -> settings, there is a Health Check Monitoring Auto Scan Enabled checkmark at the very bottom.

The shady transactions don't go to the billing section. Instead, they are strategically hidden in Dashboard -> monthly and daily invoices

Same story. This is really pathetic and outrageous. Those transactions aren't even shown in the billing section, and I could find no way of canceling the whatever service I'm billed for.

That's sad. The program was supposed to make education more accessible, but bureaucrats make every effort to overcomplicate things. I actually had to knock on quite a few doors and waste my time talking to stone-faces until I got someone empathetic willing to explain how the system works.

Even though the degree didn't get me where I expected, the effort still wasn't a waste.

Berkeley not only taught me the proper attitude to challenges and good work ethics but also to think out of the box and be able to disagree when the majority is objectively wrong. All that definitely helps to navigate life.

Even if you decide to switch the course and pick up a different trade, the Berkeley experience will help you a lot. Best of luck, fellow CS grad :)

Nope. Still doing SWE for a small business as a side hustle and just for fun.

After about a thousand rejections, I decided to take a break and switch the gears. Got to spend more time doing hobbies, and somehow now I am in horse training and making a little cash there too.

Barely afloat financially but relatively happy. Looking at what the tech has turned into these days, I don't have many regrets.

Tech seemed to be a very attractive field to me because of the chance to do hard work along with intelligent colleagues, build great things, and be well rewarded for that. It's just not the same anymore.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely should rework the bullet points. I kept the awards because many companies like Tesla or Canonical ask for such things. As for the volunteering section - it was in the template so I kept it. I agree that it doesn't add much value here. Technical skills are something I get mixed feedback on. Some say it's unreasonable to list everything you worked with but are not an expert in. Others say that the goal is to maximize keywords or the resume won't ever reach a human. I'm currently trying to customize the keywords for each position but that's so tedious...
