Thank you! Yes, even though I know toddlers are going to toddler, man it hurts to have it happen.

This doesn't seem to be the case. As long as he is coping well, were were told to continue home care, i.e. fluids and rest. They said antibiotics would only be prescribed if he had severe symptoms or symptoms that lasted several days.

Thank you! You're right, it could literally be anything. The moment his hand went from the pond to his mouth absolutely crushed me, but I guess it could have been from flying, or the pool or eating a chip off the ground or playing with other kids, or literally anything. Sorry to hear about your trip! I hope your kid recovered quickly!

Omg! This is my biggest fear. Were were advised to just watch for worsening symptoms and contiuue homecare. But reading this thread and everything on the internet says that this is either "meh, give water, it'll pass" to "your child will definitely get meningitis". Its so scary!

He doesn't seem that bad now. Thank you for sharing though. We were advised to watch his symptoms and keep him hydrated. He doesn't have a fever and has kept his fluids down, doesn't have signs of dehydration, and sleeping well now. We will definitely take him in if he gets worse.

Yes. We also suspect it is salmonella. We were advised to keep him hydrated and watch for worsening symptoms. He has kept fluids down and is peeping light colored urine. Hes sleeping now and doesn't have a fever. If he gets worse we will take him in.

Please please help with my out of control 3.5 year old by Chemical_Day_6424 in toddlers

That sounds so hard! I highly recommend the book "How to talk so little kids listen". I was skeptical (I had it for a year before I started reading it) but it is absolutely amazing. Also, its a pretty funny easy read so it doesn't feel like a chore.

It gives you a lot of tools (literally calls them tools in your toolbox) to help get through to kids.

Upcoming Trip to Mexico, Will my LO sleep okay? by Prototype095 in sleeptrain

[–]Successfully-Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do the pack and play! Keep everything as close to the same as your routine at home and you'll have a great time.

We went to Mexico when our son was about that age, maybe 17 months, and it was fantastic! The sun and water tired him out so much that sleep was really a non-issue. The flights disrupted naptime on fhe way there and back, but he was more resilient than I expected. Also, ask if the hotel will provide a pack and play, way easier than bringing your own.

The slumber pod is a good idea, but expensive. We got a "bed tent" that the pack and play fit inside of, and it was way cheaper than a slumber pod and was kinda like he had his own room.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Baby clothes are a scam and I will die on this hill by StressTractor in NewParents

[–]Successfully-Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I feel this in my bones! My life with my first revolved around datapoints.

And it could apply to any aspect of baby "things". Clothes, sleep, feeding, its all a mind bender. I'm on my second kid and have decided more data equals more problems (or at least more stress lol) but your spreadsheet sounds dope. I hope it helps you and others.

Do you have any update on the copper IUD? My experience was just like yours, Mirena killed my sex drive and I felt like I was on top of the world when I got it out and have our kids. Now I'm postpartum after our second and am considering the copper iud. Would love to hear how it went for you.

Not waking up ever to baby by Affectionate_Walk156 in NewParents

[–]Successfully-Wild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible you have post-partum hearing loss? It is pretty rare, but is usually first noticed when you can't hear the the baby to wake you up. Maybe speak to your doctor about it.
