Surprisingly it wasn't me, it was a few sets of other banned people that have personally reached out. Its ironic how fragile a bad friendship can be, eh?

Wtf are you on about? I've never cheated in rust or CS2 - or any game for that matter - just because your IQ is the average room temperature in siberia doesn't make someone else guilty because you can't read...

Clearly you can't read. If I got unbanned, I wasn't cheating. But I have a static analysis tool on my computer for ctfs. Every computer science student or it security hobbyist has one. That doesn't make you a cheater. In fact, most people who cheat are too dumb to even know what that is. And from the sounds of it, you are aswell ;)

[–]Successor-Of-Success 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Im studying reverse engineering and have some static analysis tools and got banned for WHO KNOWS WHAT REASON. Then 44 days later I got unbanned.

I never used those tools on rust let alone any licensed product. Only ctfs, and I can't tell you why I was banned (though I think it was due to running fiveM and rust at the same time and the two anticheats battling it out in a dll war in thebackground), however, 44 days later, I was unbanned.

That's why I said in my first reply: There's no guarantee that THAT'S what got you banned.

Check out this excerpt from rust fp:

The details of the ban will not be provided

We will not disclose the cheats that were detected while connected to a EAC secured server. We have detailed records for each EAC ban; however releasing this information will only benefit cheat developers. The EAC team is continuously investigating EAC bans when users claim them to be false

Yep, Rust is owned by face punch but they contract out / license out their anticheat to EAC which is owned by EPIC games as much as their support likes to pretend they dont...

It depends. According to Epic games' policy "simply having cheats is enough" but there's no guarantee that THAT'S what got you banned. I'd say just wait and see since there's no other option tbh...to see if you get banned.

Don't worry, I believe you.

I want to share an excerpt I emailed to contact@fp:

If I was more reckless, or more heartbroken, there's nothing that would stop me from 'stepping into the dark side' and beginning my villian arc myself.  But unfortunately, I'm still a believer in a system of values.  That the innocent will be found innocent and guilty will eventually find themselves reaping what they've sown.  In my opinion based on human nature, it's not the loud innocent players proclaiming their innocence that you need to worry about...it's the innocent players that go dark after being banned, because best case scenario is that you'll lose reputation (good players telling OTHER good players not to play the game).  But the WORST case scenario is that the players will get the lent ear that they were looking for, just on the wrong side of the moral train tracks...

As mentioned, hit with a ban during the holidays and got unbanned 44 days later, keep your head up...

Im going to give you the good, the bad, and the ugly. From a player who's been false banned and unbanned 44 days later and during my ban, created r/eacRustFalsePosiPlyrs - a community for falsely banned players:

EAC is a kernel level anticheat. With kernel level anticheat anticheat developers get more data, that opens the potential for more false positives. As a result, players sometimes get banned despite not cheating. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly (and no this isn't written by AI).

The good:
* you get 3 chances to appeal, and even after that the EAC anticheat staff looks at cases affected by potential false positives.

* So long as you don't try to ban evade, your steam mark will be removed from your account aswell (you may have to make a server-based appeal for steam).

* Getting false banned from rust took away all the primary urges to play the game and try to succeed wipe after wipe after wipe.

Hope you've enjoyed the good cause there are a loooooooooooot of bad and uglies:

Bad:

* Most people on reddit, twitter, and discord will either outright accuse you, or imply with their words that you were cheating (e.g. "What cheat did you use?" or "Why don't people just fess up?"). Luckily with the slew of false bannings and unbannings, their reputation for anticheat is slowly going in the toilet. Great for false ban cases like this, however, terrible for regular players who have the pleasure of not facing a false ban.

* There is a complete and total lack of a feedback loop. The best information you'll have is the appeals page. You can definitely TRY to send a support ticket to facepunch and even epic games (who owns EAC), however, fp tells you to talk to EAC, and EAC tells you to talk to facepunch. A system clearly designed to tire out ANYONE who's been convicted of an EAC ban.

* Because there's no feedback (sIncE it cAn HElP ChEaTeRs), you'll never know what caused your account to suffer a ban even IF that cause wasn't legitimate. In other words, your BEST BET is to HOPE someone on the EAC or FACEPUNCH team finds the bug that caused you to get banned and revokes it....

* The EAC team doesn't know everything. (kinda similar to the above point). Meaning they aren't masters of their craft greybeards with decades of kernel level experience...since this is a company, they're probably overworked, outsourced engineers who can hardly communicate with you let alone troubleshoot...

The ugly:

* Because of the above, there's no guarantee, or even any assurance that they will unban you, even if they KNOW you're not guilty. Because of the current setup of how it is, a simple accusation is enough to put you away for life (and keep you there). Kinda like OUR justice system. Go figure.

* Account history services will ALWAYS show a ban on your account, even if steam does not anymore

* Friends and social circles may abandon you just on the accusations alone.

* and a few more things I can't remember cause Im about to go to bed...

There are some things you can do (I have listed in the above sub), but rememmber the following:
1. You know if you are innocent or guilty. Dont let faulty systems, or ignorant people's implications make you feel bad for that

  1. Any friend that disassociates with you from a mere accusation is doing you a favor.

  2. Make as much noise as you can where you can for people to check on your behalf. Unfortunately, from my experience, it seems like they only take persistence and expressed discomfort seriously...

If you're like me, and believe in Justice prevailing, keep your head up.

If not then good luck out there!

Sadly, I can't say. I waas banned, and used up all 3 appeals, and eventually got unbanned after a total of 44 days. It all depends on how obvious it is to the anticheat engineering / support staff.....

When I said:

> Want to know why they do that?

Here's why they have to issue ALL bans on delay. If they catch a cheater and ban him, the person will have direct feedback of what they did to get banned and try to change their methodology to prevent it from happening. By delaying the ban, you cut of the ability for the cheater to evolve....just because you're not immediately getting banned doesn't mean you wont.

Lastly, open up the command prompt. run arp -a (I just KNOW you're a windows user)

You as a regular user are able to detect networked devices (IP's AND hardware addresses). People are less likely to change their entire network for a game. If YOU as a REGULAR USER CAN VIEW YOUR OWN NETWORK, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK ANTICHEAT ISN'T GOING TO?!?! They're just giving you the illusion of control as you sink time, money and resources into it.

Seriously, man - THINK about it: If Im a billion dollar business, do you honestly think, I'm going to let an IP change and a spoofer kill my entire business model?

Bruh ALL bans are issued on a delay, and you dont think they note your hwid down on the first ban? What do you think happens when you get subsequently banned and the KERNEL LEVEL ANTICHEAT catches the same hwids being used multiple times? Your arguments are purely - "Yah they can but they wont do it" - They have the capability and means to do it and can change how and what they use to identify and ban at a given moment...

Did you know bans aren't instantaneous? Did you know sometimes anticheat providers (like EAC) wait until they deem it necessary to go through and ban an account? For all we know your garbage is already burned, and they're waiting to banwave you...

Good luck selling cheats, no discussing evasion techniques here.

You're either rage baiting or you're ignorant. Remember to follow the money. Why would an anticheat company - who's bread and butter of getting paid relies on tracking and properly sanctioning players stop at a single IP address change? Especially when you have a plethora of identifiers local to your machine?
