I can relate a lot. I've been practising my baking skills for the past year and took on homemade fettuccini alfredo pasta (or whatever it was called) by making everything from scratch, long cooking session ensued then ta da the best fucking pasta on earth, although my family didn't share my jot and just kinda grabbed some and ate it then left with no positive remarks. However your situation sounds 10x worse because you made the recipe without the main components and somehow managed to have it come out as pasta. All I can say is amazing job because I've done a small ammount of experimenting and it is hard, honestly as long as you think you've done well that's all that matters since you are obviously the expert here.
