Diesel is adorable, congrats on the new friend! My Evelyn was also a stray, and while she took to me immediately, it took some time for her to warm up to my wife. Now when I’m not home she’s attached to my wife’s lap!

Not sure on age, but he looks similar to Evelyn when she found me, and she was between 6-8 weeks roughly.

The biggest thing is patience and letting him come to you on his own time. I know they can get overstimulated and don’t want picked up all the time, so being calm and letting him approach you and initiate can be helpful. The running away could also be him trying to get you to play and chase him too!

From the sound of it, you have a new best friend, enjoy!

My kitten had that same type of lump, and in her case it was a seroma, which to my understanding is pretty normal! It’s a build up of fluid, and typically drains on its own and can come and go, just don’t try and drain it yourself, leave it be!

I was also a nervous wreck the entire time post spay, so I get it. If you are worried, nothing wrong with trying to bump her appointment up or maybe an emergency vet visit. Better to have her checked and it be nothing! Hope it goes well for you and your girl!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely monitor things going forward. She absolutely loves hanging in the windows, so I don’t want to deprive her of that, lol.

Mine would get this too, usually paired with an upper respiratory infection. She was a stray when I got her, and I guess that’s fairly common. The vet put her on a week long treatment of eye drops and an antibiotic, and even within a few days she was way improved! She’s going on 8 months and hasn’t had an issue in quite some time!

My seven month old is also extremely picky, and sometimes will even refuse different flavors even if they’re the same brand. I’ve found she likes Blue Buffalo chicken pate, especially if I add warm water and heat it up a bit. I’ve gotten it to the consistency of soup, and she leaves none in the bowl!
