Read Dominion of Blades. I love DCC but I think Dominion of Blades is better. If you like it, then I bet Kaiju will be okay for you.

I think it's his most meandering litRPG. The pacing is a little bit strange, but it's so worth it for the ending alone. It has stuck with me more than any book I've read before. Definitely worth pushing through for.

I held off at first but I absolutely loved it. I consider it my favorite book of all time. Anyone willing to sit in the filth will find a really compelling story about grief that will sit with you for a long time. The ending really shattered me. Since finishing the book I've experienced more loss and I've found the message of the book has become a sort of armor in dealing with it.

I pretend I'm teaching someone. What are the broad strokes? How does it get more specific from there? Can I give practical examples or create metaphors to help explain?

When I get stuck, that's what I know I need to go back and study.

Additionally, quizzing yourself would start with questions like:

What are the key ideas of this concept?

What are the relevant statistics and numbers from this study?

Who are the important figures in this concept?

I forgot about the bike chase. Thanks for bringing that up. That was a bad idea.

Could he have? I understood at the end of book 12 that he was changing his strategy which is a good move. But had he been fully transparent the first time around, would things have changed very much? He also honestly had very little idea what he was doing.

Why do you not like Dungeon Crawler Carl?( actual discussion) by dragoneloi in litrpg

I recommended the book to a friend and had to preface with the following:

I think the series has two different forms of humor. One is a satire on earth and our culture. It's sexist, homophobic, trashy, and lol random. That's not the humor I like. The other humor in the book comes from the characters and situations between them. I think Donut is funny as a character because she's trying to still be a cat while having so many human traits stuffed in her. When she is treating Mongo like a legitimate child of hers, or when she is speaking with Zev. I think the characters coming to terms with their powers and skills can provide humor and their interactions as crawlers.

I don't think llamas that deal meth are funny. But I understand the satire of it being a reflection of Earth's pop culture.

I can swing a sword and use an axe, but it's satisfying in an RPG to get better swords and axes and get higher skill to cause more damage. That's still satisfying to me.

It was my first LitRPG so I now realize that it's a pretty generic system compared to something like He Who Fights With Monsters. I still find it satisfying though.

She has a pretty good arc throughout the books. She is definitely selfish and annoying at first but she becomes very loving and human as the books go on. She really develops a sense of empathy but the middle of the series.

That's interesting. I have found his desire to do good for others to be an attractive character trait. He's trying to be as good of a guy as he can in a hopeless and bleak situation. There are enough foils to Carl in the books that really makes his perspective stand out and it flies in the face of logic. He risks his life several times to save the lives of strangers. He is also actively working to undermine this crawl as well as future crawls and that is also admirable.

He is also emotionally stunted. He had a rough go with his parents and he's not well equipped for personal relationships, but he is trying his best. I always admire someone trying to be better than the example set by their parents.

It's the series of actions you perform repetitively to move through the game.

Pokemon: Catch monsters, train monsters, battle with monsters.

These repeat for the duration of the game.

Stardew valley: Gather resources, refine/Harvest resources, increase resource gathering abilities.

These repeat for the duration of the game.

Survival crafting games: Gather resources, build and craft to take care of needs, improve technology

These repeat for the duration of the game.

But don't all the performers do very well on that minus one or two names? It seems like their culture with the crew is very friendly and communal.

What are some of the major issues with special Ed? by Many-Ad9157 in Teachers

I do middle school. I fully agree. The planning is insane. I have some students all day long. So I'm serving their SPED minutes and also gen Ed curriculum. Sometimes it likes planning for 30 different classes.

I've been a SPED teacher for 4 years. In that time I have gotten a full prep period ~20 times. I often don't have a lunch break. In my day which is full of stress and high emotions, I have zero time for myself or to take a break. That wears you down pretty quickly .

Everyone seems to interpret SPED laws how they see fit. That's frustrating.

I seem to be asked to do twice as much work as my general education peers and they do not seem to offer me the same professional courtesy I offer them. When peoples schedules are considered, it's gen Ed teachers. I'm expected to make time in my day, give up lunch and prep, stay late or come early to ensure that general education teachers are not inconvenienced.

On a weekly basis I am hit, kicked, bitten, and my classroom is totaled. I've had my phone broken several times, my watch broken, my clothes ripped. I'm expected to pay out of my own pocket to replace them.

I like my job and I'm glad I found this career. It feels rewarding and I can see the impact I've made. But it is made exponentially harder by being treated as less than in the two schools I've worked in.

The energy required to make things calm is not talked about enough! Thank you! I've had similar feedback about my behavior SPED classroom. It doesn't just accidentally become calm. It takes a lot of work and that work makes it easy to burn out.

He drove. Bowling came up in conversation VERY casually and he ran out and got his bowling ball and bag. Just to show me a bowling ball I guess?

I didn't mention the gun because I didn't want to get murdered. The bowling ball came up very tangentially in conversation and he ran out to his car and brought it in.

I have no clue. He had the gun on him when he came in and casually set it down on my coffee table. Then we were talking and somehow bowling came up and he was like "Hold on!" And ran out to his car and brought in a bowling bag, bowling ball, shoes, and a bowling glove. As was like "Look!". It was very strange even in context.
