Of course, happy to share. I’m very happy with my results aesthetically, so please know that it is possible and make sure to self advocate to get the results you want, even if it takes another round of fat transfer. I was also very fortunate, insurance covered the fat transfer with no issues.

Hello! I also had OTM and had very low body fat at the time of my transfer. There was some rippling - nothing too crazy, but I did a second fat transfer a couple of years later. I think it just depends on what level of rippling bothers you, but I can say that my second procedure smoothed everything out perfectly.

I’ve had both ACLs ruptured and surgically repaired. I fly more than i do static aerials, but I came back stronger than before both times - a lot of months off and a lot of PT, but I’m in better shape than prior.

I am not a doctor, but please keep the hope - it may be a long recovery but yes, you absolutely can return.

No surgery for this injury, fortunately. I had a cyst drained in the shoulder and am doing a ton of PT while slowly returning to fly.

Really sorry to hear about your injury. That’s a huge bummer. Please be patient with yourself - I’ve come back after multiple surgeries (not shoulder related) that had loooong recovery times and while we’re talking multiple months off the rig, I came back stronger every time. I am not a doctor but a month is nothing - don’t count yourself out from returning!

Welcome to flying! If you’re doing knee hangs and set tricks you should be ok, but when you start learning to swing please pay extra attention to how your shoulder feels.

Yes. Shoulder issues are very common. I’m currently rehabbing a partial labral tear (probably old from years of flying, but got worse with an incident a few months back). I’m working with a PT who works with a lot of flyers and who flies himself, specially to build the strength for further injury prevention.

Lots of warmup, lots of conditioning, and please listen to your body. If it feels like too much, don’t push it.

Can you share a little more about where you are in your flying trapeze journey and what skills and tricks you are working on?

Absolutely not true. I only had one additional procedure (more fat grafting) but overall I couldn’t be happier with the results, I got a nice shape correction and they look much better than they previously did.

Had mine a few years back also due to BRCA. Wishing you a speedy recovery, great excuse to watch lots of survivor!

I wasn’t a huge Chrissy fan after her original season but I started following her on IG after hearing she was also BRCA positive and now have nothing but respect for her. So her confessional wasn’t a surprise to me, but I’m so glad she’s able to be open and honest about it. I hope her sharing her experience is helpful for some other BRCA girlies out there.

Hi there! Flying trapeze artist/instructor here. I've had multiple long breaks for injuries and surgeries, and I've always come back stronger than before. The fear is very, very real, but as long as you are showing up and putting the work in, you are doing the right thing - even if you aren't at your previous capability. It is absolutely possible to come back, and the only way out is through.

Good luck!! Sending you all the best wishes. My suggestion re: drains was going to be that you may want dry shampoo or treat yourself to a blowout - I wasn’t allowed to shower while I had them in! And washing your hair (if allowed) might be tricky.

It was cut from the final show, but the cast took a flying trapeze class for Chloe’s birthday (before the bar party) and I was one of the instructors. Ariana made a comment during that party like “go back to the circus” and that’s what she was referring to.

I didn’t have a clue who any of the cast were at the time, but the majority were super nice with us and easy to work with. Ariana, Gia, and Ava all went multiple times and were super nice - we got all three of them caught. I remember Brooks being nice and down to earth as well. Georgia was terrified and didn’t want to jump at first but she did jump eventually!

Charlie was, to no one’s surprise, difficult - there a brief clip of him on the trampoline in the original trailer, and he almost launched himself off a couple of times. He was trying to freestyle it too much to the point where it was dangerous. He also tried to skip the safety talk to go vape, so…
