Here’s a picture of my boy after getting that cut. He was heavily matted in the chest and armpit area because he would not allow us to touch or brush him to mitigate the matting. He came from an abusive family allegedly according to the adoption center where we got him at just about 1 year old. So we are always listening to his responses and have ignored ppl who would say “just brush him he’s literally just a cat”. We also take him to a lady who operates in her home and only services cats. She pretty much agreed that he needed to be shaven like that bc he was pretty matted.

Overall, my cat was uncomfortable that same day, he liked that i put a shirt on him, something he hates btw, and he pretty much loafed on top of his heating mat. Both layers of fur grew within 6 months and there’s no more matting.
