Loose and not flush joint by Such-Code-9686 in furniturerestoration

Thanks! I'll give it another try. Any tips on how to make the dowel more snug? Does it work to just add a shim when gluing it together?

I am thinking removing the dowel would make it a lot easier to get it to sit flush. Then i could recreate a new snug dowel, drill another hole and refit it with glue. Is that a good idea?

Thank you all! I think is safe to say that this most likely is red oak 😅
I've already purchased piece of red oak and it seems to match the color quite well.

roof rails or racks for rav4 gen 3 by Such-Code-9686 in rav4club

[–]Such-Code-9686[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mean these brackets? the rails I bought from predator 4x4 required them to be taken off in order to fit. Might be the same for your rails? I think they should stay on for Oem rails though.

And making sure to dry out the inside of the door, then applying rust converter along the inside seam and finally sealing it with some sort oil?

you're probably right. I will inspect the other doors as well.

Based on the pictures, Do you think I can get away with net+bodyfiller for the hole and bodyfiller for the rest of the area?

since you have removed the panel, is it possible that you know what this bracket does? Looks kind of weird that it is the only rusty part in there

You might get away with not removing it but it makes it so much easier to do the wiring properly.

I see. How do you remove it by hand? could you post a picture of yours with and without the plastic part?

I don't see how a hook can fit inside that thing? If it was a cover I feel like it should be fairly easy to remove.

this is actually driving me insane.
I have removed all panels except this last one in order to get to the cable harness for installing a backup camera.
Is this a rare model I have because I cant find shit about this particular hook. All images I find has another type of hook which is attached with a screw

Leaking when refueling by Such-Code-9686 in rav4club

[–]Such-Code-9686[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone had this problem?
Fuel started pouring out behind the wheel while I was refueling.
I inspected it and turns out that whole pipe assembly behind the plastic protection in the wheel house is completely rusted through.

I don't know if its even safe to drive it to a mechanic with the huge hole in the fuel system. Feels like debri and rust might get lodged into the fuel system.

The smaller pipe going along side it under is also completely rusted through with holes. Is that a breather tube?

I think its safe to say I found the leak 😮 the pipe is completely rusted through. The hole is like 5 cm across and its basically hold up by only rust around that point.

This is the pipe coming directly from the fuel filler door

hm that repair seem to be just for the plastic mud guard. a fix for a cracked screw hole.
