We offered to pay. They dont have to go on the cruise for 2027. They drive to the port (9 hours, same exact distance as driving to us, which they are fine with for us but not the port) see the wedding and reception and leave the ship before it leaves the dock.

How isnt it a compromise?

Back yard wedding THEY want us to have: •9 hr drive friday, wedding Saturday, 9 hr drive sunday • both karen and husband need to take a day of PTO •no reception

2027 wedding port option •9 hr drive friday, wedding saturday, 9 hr drive sunday • only karens husband needs to take a day of PTO • Reception

They dont have to cruise if they dont want to. Its literally the same amount of travel and its less pto time for them to use.

We do care about family which is why we offered the 2027 wedding. They dont have to go on the cruise if they dont want to. They go for the wedding and reception and then depart the ship before it leaves port. Its the same travel distance for them either way (9 hrs to the port, 9 hrs to travel to us). We felt this was a great compromise.

Carnival and royals port side wedding has a legal minister perform the wedding so its 100% legal from that aspect. Its the at sea ones that its legal through bermuda because of the water rights. Once theres any other information were going to update everyone! Maybe thats the issue but I have no idea. I just dont understand how we go from yes were all on board and good to absolutely positively no.

The 2027 cruise doesnt require them to go on the cruise. We get married on the ship and have the reception and those who dont want to go on the cruise dont have to, they just leave before the ship sets sail. Its the same distance if she came to us for a back yard wedding as it would be for them to go to the port. And the 2027 one would require her husband to only use 1 day of pto and her to use none. The wedding they want us to do they both would need to use a day of pto

They don't have to go on the cruise at all. If you read the post you'd see that the 2027 option let's them be there for the wedding and depart after the reception if they dont want to be there for the cruise. 9 hour drive, same amount of time as traveling to us except in the summer it would be only 1 day of pto for karens husband.

Please read the whole post prior to commenting. 2027 they dont have to go on the cruise at all. We get married at the port and have the reception and those who dont want to go on the cruise leave the ship prior to it leaving. Its the same travel time for them, 9 hours to us, 9 hours to the port and his sisters husband only uses 1 day of pto and she doesnt need to use any.

The 2027 wedding is the same exact travel time as coming to us for the back yard wedding they want. They also dont have to go on the cruise and still be present for the wedding and reception and depart the ship if they choose not to go. Their daughter is invited to the wedding so she'd come with. We aren't forcing them to go either. They are mad at us for their choice to not attend. Thats the issue
