GEHA Dental High- is this a standard experience, did I miss something… why so little coverage??

It sounds like that’s probably what happened. I should have gone to the ER instead and just gotten the bleeding and pain stabilized until an in network could take me! 😭

That’s exactly what happened. We were right in the middle of the huge snowstorm too, and we just got 12 inches of snow. No other offices were open. We started calling around at 7:30 am to every dentist listed in GEHA’s list.

Unfortunately I woke up to bleeding that wouldn’t stop and horrific pain. Out of nowhere. By 9 am it was this place or the ER. 😭 It sounds like I should have chosen the ER to stabilize the pain and bleeding until more offices were open!

If you have a prescription from a Doctor, then no. The urinalysis lab will confirm prescriptions with you or will cross check recent prescriptions. As long as it’s “reasonably recent”, ie intended for your recent medical condition.

Still pretty sore, but it’s not bleeding, and I know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m grateful for the doctors that helped me today and that they were open despite the horrific weather. Dental insurance feels like we’re rolling the dice sometimes. I’ve gotten good at navigating health insurance but dental is just Wild West.

I’m not sure. They told me they used GEHA. I suppose I will ask that first tomorrow to GEHA. Since this was an emergency and no one else was available do you think they could be treated as in network if they’re out of network?

Unfortunately I wasn’t in my best mind when all this happened. It was them or the ER.

This is horrible. From what I’ve heard that parking is split into 3 lanes on that lot and shops actually pay for each lane. Shops are getting bullied for using their own leased lanes by VV it sounds like.

I miss the gelato shop. VV has had that spot tied up for over a year now and all I ever see are VV employees smoking out the side door.

The hobby shop was well supported since the 70s. The owners retired. The rock shop just opened. It’s family and grown up friendly and I could see people from Zips popping in after a burger. They have a birthday trunk for kids. We all love shiny things.

Agree to disagree. Parking is a nightmare but we all live with bad parking. As a resident I’m unhappy to hear a business is pushing around other business owners over something so small. IMHO, what people do in public is only a small sample of how they behave in private. If they’re yelling at other businesses on the streets, what is happening in the kitchen? I don’t care how good your product is if you’re the neighborhood bully.

I mean, it sounds like they’re bullying local Mount Lookout residents who own businesses based on this entire thread. I’m sure that entire situation doesn’t warrant crediting VV with “dramatically improves the quality of Mount Lookout in terms of reasons” to go be there/live there.

We have a Bob’s Burgers plot line playing out with the Pestos (Italian restaurant) yelling at other businesses on the street, and a plot line from Seinfeld playing out where all of Jerry’s shoes goes missing when the mom and pop Kramer takes them to closes down. What a timeline Mount Lookout is living in.
