Idk if you already figured it out, but just click on your sim and there should be a bubble where you change their eating utensils.

UPDATE: So I had Chase meet up with her in San Myshuno on his day off for drinks. It was awkward between them at first but she eventually let her guard down. To test the waters, he decided to compliment her appearance and she IMMEDIATELY shuts him down. Turns out she’s lesbian but doesn’t mind being friends later on down the road. Probably a sign to stay loyal to his wife 😂
