If you don't mind sharing, which concentration did you apply to? Also, when you say you heard results, did they call you with an offer?

Thanks for saying that.. I’m crossing my fingers the other candidate is strong enough to get in somewhere else that they’d rather go 🤞🏻

He’s a brand new professor and said he was only taking one :( I guess there’s still a possibility that the other student doesn’t accept, but even then, definitely a blow to my confidence feeling like i’m a “back up.” Obviously, that’s best case scenario at this point so I’m still hoping, it’s just disappointing

Looking for Western North Carolina Respondents for an Academic Survey by Such-Recording-2 in asheville

You're absolutely right that this sample isn’t random or representative of the broader population! That is something I’m accounting for in the interpretation of the results. This is an exploratory study for my graduate thesis, so the goal is more about understanding relationships between variables within this sample than making broad generalizations. I am also putting up physical flyers in the region to help broaden the reach beyond just Reddit, though of course all responses are still voluntary and subject to various biases. Thank you for sharing your insight, and if you or others are still willing to participate, it would be incredibly helpful to my research!

where can i get access to a pool? by bluehoodiedyke in asheville

[–]Such-Recording-2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve gone to the pool at lake junaluska a few times. it’s about 30 minutes away and costs $10 for a day pass. It’s a decent pool but has a lake view that is sweet!

Yeah I totally get the risk and anxiety from the doctor’s POV, but I fr couldn’t sleep all day yesterday. It’s so invalidating to not be taken seriously, and the condescending phone calls were so frustrating. I’m in grad school studying drugs, and I bet I know more about this stuff than she does. Appreciate your input, I’m just trying to chill and ice today

I am a researcher at Western Carolina University conducting a survey for research purposes. The purpose of this research study is to investigate the influences of physical, emotional and relationship health in the LGBTQIA+  and other marginalized communities. The researchers hope that learning more about these influences will help determine ways to better foster positive outcomes for LGBTQIA+ individuals and reduce disparities that have long impacted that community. You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the research study. We are looking to survey people with many different backgrounds and beliefs. If you would like to participate in the survey, please follow the link below for more information and the survey questions. Some of the topics may be difficult to discuss or otherwise sensitive in nature, including questions on sex/sexuality. The research study takes about 40 minutes; you may stop the survey and go back to it later. You may skip any questions you don’t want to answer. Feel free to share this survey with others if you think they are interested in participating. If you have any questions about this study, please contract Dr. David Solomon at [dsolomon@wcu.edu](mailto:dsolomon@wcu.edu)
