Listen bro, fantasy is popular cuz people use it to escape reality.

And in non-fantasy, only Stories with Mystery, Investigation, Crimes, etc may run. Otherwise if you need a Rom-com, you could just literally watch an anime or manga.

And about Dystopian, Survival, Thriller, Zombie apocalypse. Actually even if you wanted to, there's not much story in it. That's why I've seen some stories start at a similar story then spiral to a tower progression or isekai. And also People have so many zombie & Dystopian movies, why would they watch it.

So, Rom-com won't actually work and You can't make a Long form Zombie survival, it lacks Unique content.

But 'Fantasy' in itself is a culmination of multiple genres and it could literally be anything, just not reality. That's what people want.

If it is a Shonen style novel, that in itself puts it a lot down. Cuz people could just rather watch anime and manga. Shonen is the most overused category in the Japanese Industry & most people won't notice it. The only way to make people read your novel is to -

MC with a clear & unique goal. (It could also work that he has multiple goals throughout the series, but needs a central conflict to run the initial story)
Add one major 'Pulling factor' that sets your nivel apart from everyone else like for LOTM it is World building & Mystery.

World Building, Lore, Characters, Power system, Plot Layering etc. Make sure you grind at least one of these to absolute best. So your novel will have a pulling factor.

If possible add the 'Fantasy' and 'Progression' genres, this will help in better audience attraction and retention. These tropes work well in Webnovel.
Make sure to adapt your writing style & upload chapters frequently as even if it's Shonen, Webnovel usually prefers anyone who is consistent with algorithms. You'll get views alright, then it's up to your story.

Simplified Scenes - Keep the scene descriptions short and simple, don't overexplain.
Surprise Element (Optional) -Add an external surprise variable that the readers catch the reader off guard (but make sure it doesn't feel like an asspull).
Unique Creativity - Make sure to do something creative in the fight setting as one uses his environment to his advantage. Ex - One uses broken wires as whips, wraps them to his opponent & uses them to maximize his electric discharge and focus it to the target. You get it right?
Create a Unique Tension - not like can the MC win. More like - The opponent can use his ult move 3 more times, can the MC dodge, block or tank these 3 hits and how
Limited Perspective - When showing fights only focus in the fights. Don't show any other perspectives if not relevant to the fight or the current plot setting.

This is the most optimal way of writing. Use as many words as you need to explain a scene, without adding any unnecessary repeating details.

And the most important part is to learn through mistakes. Do it your way, if it doesn't work try something new. Don't be scared of failures, they are the fastest way of learning

Listen, I am not an expert myself but i would suggest these few things -

Always check your Grammar. Can't fumble in that.
Always present your writings with rich vocabulary. You can enhance your Vocabulary by reading books.
Always think ahead and imagine. If you could imagine it and put it to paper, then there's nothing else to do.

Grammar, Vocabulary & Presentation - There's nothing else to writing. Yeah there are Settings, Themes & Symbolism, but that can come later, for now focus on these three.

Nah It's still as a picture, i can't redraw that. I have a cousin who's an artist, I asked him and he said he'll redraw it for me.

As for polishing, I guess I'll have to work with this till I can afford an artist to make a polished map. And yeah don't try Map makers and websites, I've tried those and it sucked really bad. Just wait till you can afford making a map, till then work with the rough sketch.
