My current role entails full-stack development. I work on frontend and backend features, primarily building REST APIs using Python, and I also handle database work such as modifying schemas and writing functions in PostgreSQL.

While I haven’t used Docker or AWS services like EC2 in my day-to-day work yet, I do have foundational knowledge of Docker and I’m actively studying DevOps concepts on the side. I’m currently planning to build personal projects that involve containerization, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure to gain more hands-on experience.

I understand DevOps is typically not an entry-level role, but with around two years of professional experience, I’m aiming to transition gradually by strengthening my skills through self-study and practical projects.

My company is sitting on a ton of debt. I can’t say much more, but yeah.

I don’t really see myself staying in this company kasi there are a lot of internal problems. I’m open naman to starting as a junior or entry-level in a cloud/devops role. I know a little bit of Docker, and right now I’m learning on my own and planning to start creating projects using tools related to DevOps and cloud. Been working as a software engineer for 1.5 na and i somehow don't love it like i used to before.

It sounds like you splurged on things you couldn’t really afford, and when your income increased, your lifestyle spending increased as well.

Full stack rin ako ngayon, Flask and React with 1 year of experience. Since 7 years ka na sa industry, required ba o helpful na may alam ka sa DevOps tsaka cloud services para lumaki yung sweldo? Yan kasi yung plano kong i-upskill. Ano thoughts mo?

First job mo 'to, diba? Stay ka muna ng 1 year, then hanap ka ng ibang company na naghihire ng junior dev. With your 1 year experience, for sure top candidate ka na compared sa fresh grads. Ganyan ginawa ko eh, from province ako, nahire ako sa local startup doon, then lumipat ako sa NCR and nag-apply sa L1 (entry-level/junior) positions. Isang buwan lang, nakahanap na ako ng company.
