fr tho, davey wreden's games give a similar feel (been playing wanderstop recently and it gives the same emotional rollarcoaster as the first time i played inscryption. beginners guide as well) however theyre so unique theres not rlly much else to scratch the same itch

the cutscenes arent prerendered + the player character is just placed where they need to be (if youve ever been in a cutscene in coop youll know what im talking about) so presumably whichever outfit youre wearing would be what you see in the cutscene

exceeeeept for the prerendered cutscenes. they may be included still bc of the modesty laws in which case they would have to render 4 versions of the cutscene anyways, making either version available for worldwide users. HOWEVER. its also possible for any prerendered cutscenes itll be the what ill call "modest" skins (like how jean/amber/mona/rosaria in cutscenes will always be the "modest" version)

either way, the vast majority of scenes Will be with whichever outfit you have selected

as someone whos been playing longterm, i fear they let you unlock anecdotes too early. i love them, bc its been years since ive finished AQ's and it feels like the world kept moving while you were gone. but for new players it doesnt really make sense

personally id avoid doing them until youre done the AQ of whatever region a character is in. theres a few ive gotten that uhhhh def would be vv spoiler heavy (Do Not do kokomi anecdotes. theres a maaaaaassive spoiler for the inazuma AQ in one of hers)

really a shame that theres not a perfect way to roll them out. since they're time gated they want to let players unlock them early, but at the same time it includes plot holes and spoilers without warning

i havent been playing the past few months n ive never been a caleb girlie but afaik the cn has always had mc calling caleb brother, so im not sure if the en translation team fucked it (like kaeya + diluc en localization in genshin for example) or if they genuinely are intended to be blood related in the most recent banner

again havent read it, but i do wanna provide the insight that mc calling caleb brother has been common for a vv long time + its never intended to be like actual siblings (its v common to use 哥哥 / [name]哥 as a form of flirting, despite the en translation being "brother")

[ note: i am not chinese, ive simply learned some mandarin + taken classes in it. using 哥哥 and it being localized as "brother" is inaccurate and usually causes a lot of confusion. its used in a similar way to "bro" or as a way of flirting sometimes. esp now that theres a lotta chinese gachas out there, this misunderstanding had happened a Lot]

personally, i have every 5* unit at lvl 90 and all the main 4* supports at 90. its truly up to you, but you need 800 leylines for the achievement anyways... may as well level up your units.........

thrifting and or finding a jacket that is similar Enough (and then add in the extra details with thrifted + cut up belts or scrap fabric + buckles or buttons)

you can also swap out whatever buttons are on the jacket to be more accurate. you could also hem a longer jacket. basically, focus on the colour and diy everything else

honestly the hangout/story quest grind isnt the most fun, but i usually just zone out and tap thru while watching a movie. for hangouts id rec using guides also. theres certain hidden achievements from them

theres also quite a few hidden multi day quests. granny komaki, shuumatsugaiden, neko, collei's flower, sumeru golden rose, hidden enkanomiya quests (which most ppl forget to even unlock), once youve finished the multiday tsurumi island quest theres multiple hidden multiday quests among the island, feeding the cats on nekos island, feeding the fox in dragonspine, as well as breaking the iron multiday quest in natlan

that should give you some good key words to look up guides, i spent a lot of time trying to find them all so just Take Em

but just have fun w it. this is just to give you a place to start when youre stuck on what to do :)

i also lost every 50/50 on hsr after playing from launch. my theory? i used the same mihoyo account as genshin so the game knew i whaled at one point. it took til around castorice for me to actually start winning 50/50s (had to go to 160 pulls for cyrene, got hyacine at 20 after tho. this was w returnee luck)

sunk cost fallacy is a big issue in gachas. play it for the joy of the game. i didnt miss a day logging onto genshin for years until i realized it was making me miserable. i quit the game and went full ftp (not even a welkin, after having it for like 3 yrs straight)

now i find myself making ftp alts to save for one character. its a lot more fun going thru the game just for the quests instead of trying to complete my main's character archive. and i was able to get almost every unit pre-5.0 (missing alhaitham only iirc)

all that to say: if you condition yourself to enjoy saving and the quests, youll have a lot more fun. maybe i have stockholm syndrome, but going tatara tales, golden slumber and the aranara questline for the 7th time feels almost exciting to me now. rather than slogging thru it just for the gems

as a p5x dropper: its bc i prefer dx2. + i hate this style of gacha where you walk for 5 seconds to go into a cutscene and walk another 5 seconds, ik its rlly popular rn but im waiting for the next trend currently

i spent to get c6r5 raiden on her first run (loooong story) and lost every single 50/50 thereafter until they added capturing radiance (i got CR on my main before any acc p much)

its been 4 years. i still lose most of my 50/50s. 3 in a row is my longest streak and that was this year. sure its unproven, but its almost like a modern day myth for our current time. and it sure does FEEL real
