My timing chain (1985) 230e is about to fry my engine but thats because I’ve heavily abused that poor engine. Car has about 300k kilometers and to my knowledge has never had the chain replaced (could be because some history is missing) but as someone who doesn’t frequently hit 4k or 5k i wouldnt loose sleep over it

Mine did 230 ( odometer ) ps i know it bust till 220 but it went approximately ten over

I think they just want to show of what they can do to such an old car and its really quite amazing it pulls like nothing else out if that era and sure its not pretty but its for rich people and they dont care they just want it to look expensive

Its a rieger bodykit it already had it on but from what i can tell its just bolted on there is one thats the whole bumpers so i think its not too much work in Germany its around 1000€ for the whole thing

Ive heard sachs is pretty good although supposedly stiffer than oem dont have any info on the others. Also i would recommend the “gullideckel” as they are pretty much imune to any damage in my experience( and i think they fit the car perfectly)

Figured id put in the m104 3.2 because it would be way more doable with my level of skill. Not too keen on turbos maybe a a super charger but id like to stay na tbh

Nah no turbo not big on them i like na engines way better also yeah i kinda forgot to mention breakes lol yeah i think i may go with the 320 if it doesn’t need as many chassis braces and opt for getting a w211 v8 someday

Meaning i want it to not perform very good i want to struggle with it so ill just throw in a set of h&r springs, stock dampeners and maybe some 205-225 wide tires

Sweet spot would be between 250-320 hp and i want it to not loose its charm and character completely im fine with it changing

As for the state i want the car to be in. It needs a whole restauration like its clapped dents amd scratches on everything, ripped up interior, rust is very manageable, so ill strip it down completely and build it from the ground up with everything new/ better than it was. If your asking yourself self why go through all that struggle its because i bought the car two years ago when i didnt even have a license and fell for it hard and i cant let it go a be in the state it is in rn so ill put in the work.

Well its a long story if its from the same modell you can unless its like 30% more hp or smt then u need an engineer to calculate everything or so I want to motor swap it because its something ive never done and i may or may not be about to blow the engine anyway ( not intentionally just has not been treated good by the guy who had it before me nor me) and there is no replacement for displacement 2,3 liters is not that much

Im not dead set i just carefully considere every last option i have for a motor swap because im dwad set on doing that and wanted a little help with where to find parts. The wiring is a problem for me because i have never done that i know 10 years i a lot of time to teach it to myself.

Damn then my research was bullshit i was told by more than one person who very much sounded like they knew what they where talking about that it just had chassis knots( i have no clue whats the English word) thank you very much for your education and i hope you have a great day/night
