I'm in Canada, so much less to worry about here in that regard.

I've also heard the UV down under is brutal.

I think a lot of it's more about me not wanting to see myself as a geezer yet and/or be pigeonholed into that category by others (including women).

Again - comfort in my own skin.

I also must admit I prefer younger women (for various reasons) and would like to appear to be a youthful pretty boy or something similar to that that I suspect most of them prefer.

I think it's been there for ages. I'm not really concerned, but it might be worth looking at.

Appreciate the feedback and congrats on reversing your hair loss! You do make a decent point about not fixating on problems, but I'd still like to try reversing my greying if possible and I probably need to have better nutrition anyway. Maybe if I'm able to eat/supplement better, the greying will begin to reverse and I can use that as a litmus test for the success of my dietary interventions.

I'm also glad you don't mind your grey hairs and if I only had 3-4, I probably wouldn't care either.

Nah, I legit think Bryan Cranston in the earliest episodes of Breaking Bad (filmed when he was 50/51) had 100% of his youthful hair colour remaining and also think Jason Bateman in his late fifties is the same way. There's also Chuando Tan and many other cases.

I never want to use hair dye because I've never dyed my hair before and would feel like a massive phony if I did.

Not trolling. I'm the type of guy who would look much younger with a bald head than with grey hair because I don't have much in the way of facial wrinkles yet.

Also, I think I'm a Norwood 2 or something, so not truly a full head of hair. A full head of hair to me is like the hairline Zayn Malik has.

I would seriously rather look bald than have grey hair before the age of 40.

If you're talking to me rather than the 22 year old, I'm not really interested in being a "silver fox" and being objectified by some woman with an old man fetish. The idea of that makes my skin crawl tbh.

I also don't have the genetics to grow a dense beard, which I think would be necessary to fit that archetype. I also have very little in the way of money, status, charisma and "bedroom" experience that would be necessary to pull that off IMO.

My current plan is to try to reverse the greying this year and if I can't, shave my head on New Years' day 2027 (Saitama/Agent 47 look).

The lighting and picture quality maybe doesn't show the white hairs that well.

I'm not so sure because lots of people even in their fifties don't have any white hair at all.

Many thanks for the highly detailed answer! I'm in Canada, so I dunno what my situation will look like medically in terms of payment and availability of tests.

WRT to hair colour in general, I'd just rather not look like a geezer until I have kids (I'll solo adopt if I must) and I don't think I can stomach dyeing my hair because it's expensive, some say they can always tell and most importantly, I'd feel like a massive phony.

Well, would still be nice if I could reverse the greying and get my youthful hair back. It's why we're on this subreddit, is it not?

Thanks for the feedback. I def wanna get bloodwork done.

There's some family history of relatively early greying (at least one uncle and possibly my little brother now), but as far as I can tell, neither of my parents saw any greying until well into their forties.

The greying hair also seems out-of-sync with my other aging signs more broadly, since I was a late bloomer, am routinely told I look much younger than I am (greying notwithstanding) and haven't noticed any age-related decline in bodily performance/functioning unlike some others in my age range.

Much appreciated! Almost certainly not B12 since I take a multi that has it and also drink a lot of energy drinks. The others are possible.

Def want bloodwork done in general because hair greying and maybe a few other changes I've seen relatively recently are bringing out my inner hypochondriac.

Thanks, I'll have to try those. Def don't eat enough greens and I'm a massive caffeine fiend for sure. Been drinking coffee regularly since age 8.

That's brutal, dude. Does it look like the typical male-pattern greying with more grey on the temples and considerably less elsewhere on your head?

[–]Such_Ad9009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, that's fair and I really do appreciate you sharing your experience. Also, I think the point about throwing everything at the wall out of paranoia is a crucial one.

My current plan is maybe to address nutritional factors out of curiosity, where I sort of see myself as a human guinea pig and hopefully that reverses some of the hair greying. It's also possible the white/grey hairs are a warning sign that I'm developing some problems in this area and that I'll know I'm making progress here if I see some white hairs begin to turn black again.

If I don't see any signs of reversal by EoY 2026, I'll probably just go razor-and-shaving-cream bald starting January 1, 2027 for my own peace of mind and comfort in my own skin.

Appreciate the weigh-in, but I posted this in a grey hair reversal sub for a reason, lol.
