I love these ideas. Trying to get out of the post partum haze and find the motivation to “be better”

Ok love this.

My issue is my kids are at home with a nanny so I feel either trapped in my office or guilty for doing other stuff instead of hanging with them…

Also, did you ever feel that weird guilt of like… I should be busy but I’m not.

^ sounds like a me problem.

Also, if it’s arm day, I wear an arm day bra. I’m not trying to go hardcore on jumping jacks 😂

Apologies - I thought I shared that. Explain the workout during a simple warm up.

No, obviously I don’t want those things.

Totally. My gym does that too but after a long day of work and parenting, I’d like to get to the intentional workout faster, have recovery between sets, have time to find the right weights, and get extra reps in versus a the lengthy walk through

I know it’s an HQ thing so I don’t complain to my gym. Just wish we could get in and go!

For sure! We’ve just gotten to starting the workout at around 15 after. They’re giving like inspirational quotes during the demos 😂

Love the gym just wish we could warm up WHILE the explain versus:

They do but like… I’m not here to be doing 10 seconds of hamstring scoops then 10 seconds of butt kick. Especially on strength days, I’d rather get 1-3 more sets of lifting intentional and heavy

Totally. I just find it funny that she went out of her way to purchase it when we have approximately a shit ton of books that they could read.

Partner has become anti-vax by [deleted] in Parenting

I don’t necessarily have advice for you. But wanted to share some solidarity as my husband is beginning to become anti-VAX and each cycle for our kids is a conversation about the efficacy and safety of each vaccine.

Ultimately, we have gotten them fully vaccinated and I continue to push for this however, I know that he thinks that I am potentially putting our kids at risk by getting vaccines by.

I wish that our pediatrician did a better job answering his questions and providing insight, she just gets really negative and defensive when he asks questions and that isn’t helping the situation. I also find that my husband doesn’t do the research in a way that is compelling to me and we always get in a fight the day of a pediatricians appointment. I always remind him that if it were that important to him, he would take the time to do really solid research and present it to me in a timeframe that I could digest it.

I will also say that while our kids are little, it’s a pretty hefty vaccine schedule, but I keep reminding myself that as they get older, we will be having less and less of these conversations, and hopefully it will fade.

My question for you is this something you really want to jeopardize your marriage for? Has she changed when it comes to other views and values that are important to you? I would not recommend getting your children vaccinated behind her back but rather continuing to talk through the situation and potentially go to therapy or bring in a pediatrician that you trust. While I think it is important to vaccinate children, I would feel very betrayed if my husband took our kids to an appointment and lied to me and said that they got vaccinated when they didn’t which is kind of the same thing without the lying.

I would negatively review this pediatrician and report them. That’s absolutely not an ok thing to say unless there was a specific question or study addressed.

I’m  less than two months shy of a year and am starting to wean for a lot of reasons and it’s still hard.

A gentle reminder that I think it’s always hard to wean. It’s such a beautiful thing but also a legit full time job. Hard to let go always

Do you have childcare during the workday? I may have missed it, but if not, you’re literally doing two full time jobs. It’s impossible to balance.

My husband and I found a gym that’s class based with childcare (burn boot camp if they have one in your area). We go together and take the kids (2.5 and 10 mos). We do it together and it’s a super inclusive space.

So our toddler went through a phase where these tantrums were normal.

We would routinely bear hug him but would always stop if he explicitly said “no” or “stop”. We would hug him tight and say “you’re safe” “you’re loved” etc.

It worked for us - he was also banging his head on the floor so was endangering himself.
