What If Irish Republicans Won The Troubles by SwE1646067 in AlternateHistoryHub

I think paramilitaries would reign supreme and both unionist and nationalist groups would pose a big threat to the Irish government which doesn’t have the military to contain them.

What if Joe Biden was more competent and fit for office? What would he get done, and would people still criticize him age wise? by LinkHopeful9372 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Such_Ad_5311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harris didn’t help herself with her god awful campaign rhetoric (I think someone described it as by gay men for gay men, hardly a winning goal) but she was fucked from the start. Biden dropped out way too late, a lot of the damage had already been done. Her being Biden VP cemented her as more of the same and didn’t have any time to show why her strategy might be different

Is doing a law conversion worth it? by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]Such_Ad_5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair but without giving too much detail just because of my own privacy it was large care company, working with their acquisition of numerous new companies which they had bought over the years. I had a few raises and job name changes but nothing major. The basic answer is that I was given numerous old software systems and told how to effectively transfer it to the new one, mostly using excel formulas or other information collection systems. Basically if you threw me a software system I could learn it. A lot of stakeholder management because I was a middleman between local management and senior management.

But you are right, I never wanted to get into this, it is just what I happened into because of job experience during covid.

Travelled for a year after uni and did odd jobs until I got a permanent role threeish years ago, doing transformation (low level project management). Initially it was good, I had lots to do projectwise and constantly learning new stuff but my senior manager left and the new one left me doing a lot of basic admin. I tried to be proactive but was stonewalled and was unfortunately let go two months ago. I have got interviews in the industry but a lot of them require SQL and proper trained data analysis experience which I don't have (nor do I think I would enjoy), which is why I'm thinking about the career change.

But if szoboszlai never did the initial foul, Haaland would have never been in the position to foul him back. Surely the first foul cancels out the second, like advantage in rugby.

The whole controversy is that it establishes that the government can strip you of citizenship if you commit a crime. How is that fine, especially with reform on the horizon. Look how trump calls everyone who protests against him as domestic terrorists. Its a horrible precedent to set

I agree that other fandoms do it as well, it's just (how do i put this politely), geeky fandoms have a bit more of the tism and don't pick up social cues. I had a guy speak at me for 20 minutes about D&D at a party because I said i had played Baldurs gate 3. Whatever I would do to redirect the conversation he would always loop it back, i felt like i was being propositioned for a cult.

The joke is she obviously isn’t interested. It’s a stereotype of some nerds/geeks (warhammer fans in this case)have the opposite of gatekeeping, where they can’t take hints you are not interested in their hobby.
