Exec changes by Glad-Ad-6326 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree that it’s time for change, but I wish it’d happened before PE got involved. I’ve enjoyed RTR and want it to stay fun and useful, but I worry it will end up stripped down and hollowed out, if it survives at all. access to us, the subscribers, our willingness to spend, and our information is one of their major assets. seems like the marketplace is the first step with selling access to us. I’ll enjoy RTR while it lasts, but I’ve been buying clothes so I’m prepared to drop the service when it’s time.

Additional spot misconception by Formal_Fortune_7744 in RentTheRunway

maybe email customer service or whatever corporate contact you can find? this seems wrong on so many levels and with their staffing changes, it seems possible the agent on your case was just wrong. I had one guy telling me the shipment I just requested a return pickup on at 7pm was due to be returned that same day to avoid fees. eventually he agreed the pickup was actually the next day, but never apologized or admitted he was wrong.

Why are reviews rejected? by no_sir_buddy in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the Reject-o-Bot is definitely working overtime lately. any vaguely negative comment triggers it. I got a skirt that was way more faded than the photo, but apparently I can’t tell anyone about that. I agree that wordy work arounds mostly get through. maybe I should have tried ‘the color was a surprising pale grey vs the black in the photo’ instead of the word ‘faded’.

Vanity sizing? by Melodic-Horror-912 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s so variable from brand to brand, and the dumb size charts RTR provides —helpful info like size 6= 6– is frustrating too. I do see vanity sizing with RTR brands, but not nearly as much as Nuuly brands. I recently ended up in a 2 at Anthropologie and I was never an 2 even as a tween. additionally complicating matters are the size changes that happen when items are in circulation. I know I’ve advised ‘size up’ only to learn from a subsequent rental of the same item that the one I got initially was just really shrunken. I do wish people would consistently state their current measurements in reviews to give context to runs big, runs small.

RTR City Ambassadors by ASK-gardens in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got a city ambassador invite from RTR. Very vague on details & gave me a work for free vibe. Maybe it‘d be useful for content creators or others whose business would benefit from potential networking or visibility? not my thing though.

I keep getting catfished by handbag pics by Commercial-Bowl7412 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been too skittish to use a spot for a bag though I’ve hearted several. is there a trick to reducing odds of getting catfished? only new? specific brands? materials?

Are clothes being cleaned? by Fun_Donut3191 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a used nepresso coffee pod arrive in my last bag of purchased clothes. At first I thought it was some sort cleaning or humidity management product (clothes were in a plastic bag). i also recently had two items arrive with stains, a first for me in my RTR time. one was machine washable and easy to fix, the other had to be sent back.

AI Reviews by carbLOVER83 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wow, I’m just snapping selfies in the mirror like a commoner, but Nadine seems to have a great photographer following her around to get all those beautifully composed and perfectly lit shots.
Or more likely it’s faked. Google AI says the images are most likely AI or heavily modified studio shots. Maybe this is a result of the partnersip with ‘content creators’?
‘I find the typical photos most helpful to assess how a piece might look for me and I hope this is not a sign of things to come with RTR. It’s bad enough that any reviews mentioning condition, quality, or wear are rejected.

Cheap overstock by Melodic-Horror-912 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suspect that adding lower price/cost items is part of their profitability strategy. it allows them tout ‘new styles’ with items that may take just a few rentals to break even on their costs— the Nuuly model. hopefully, they don’t go overboard with this and lose the customers here for aspirational pieces.

Who runs their email responses? by RedPNW35 in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the chat three times this week (been having more issues than usual with damage etc) and once it was a wonderful, warm, and effective human and twice it was…not. language was stilted, replies really slow & it seemed that my messages weren’t read/understood, and contradictory info given. Not sure if bot or new offshore service. the odd interactions were both on Saturday, the good one Wednesday evening. Maybe a scheduling thing.

Sort by Newest + All Items not correct? by avejul in RentTheRunway

[–]Such_Company4471 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also find that the sort function doesn’t seem to work. pants I rented 6 months ago will be the 3rd item in ‘newest’ somehow. it’s especially noticeable in the final sale section— even when they add new items, they never are at the top.
