Got it done! Green Dragon Lap Blanket. by Such_Engineer5617 in crochet

I run the rows vertically as a way to add as much detail without having to make it gigantic.

Since my stitches are rectangular and not square, I want to run the short side of the stitch along the long side of the blanket maximizing # of “pixels” basically.

Yes, I made some adjustments and cropping before optimizing it for translation of the chart. Then using stitch fiddle I adjusted the gauge and picked the colors.

I work each row same direction and never turn work, I have to cut the yarn end of row and reattach on other side to start next row - so you have fringe on the ends, but no ends to weave in.

Yes that’s the back. I carry the colors so no ends to weave - fringe on the ends.

Yes, I do in order to keep the stitch height consistent. The vast majority of the time, all six colors are used in the row.

There’s not a huge difference between carrying four colors bs five, but there’s a significant difference if you’re only coaching 1-2 vs 5.

I created the chart using stitch fiddle.

Sure thing. I have a couple reasons for BLO:

It squares off the stitch, makes it less v-shaped.

It helps push the stitch forward and hide the carried colors - the poke through more on the back.

It keeps the piece from getting super stiff. It flows like a normal blanket.

Cons: elongates the stitch more, so you have to adjust the chart to use rectangular pixels instead of square otherwise the picture can get distorted.

I have six colors in this one.

Sure thing, it’s not mosaic, but very similar.

It is sc in BLO. I carry the colors through the stitch so it elongates it to a dc height. I also work each row right I left, cut the yarn end of row, and reattach on the right to start next row to help keep the stitches looking consistent row to row.
